Summary: 

• Researches, writes, and edits technical content for F-16 aircraft maintenance and operations manuals in compliance with contractual and military specifications.

• Converts legacy SGML technical manuals into S1000D XML format.

• Applies style guides, formatting standards, and publication specifications to ensure consistency across deliverables.

• Reviews and validates technical content for clarity, accuracy, and compliance prior to publication release.

• Supports publication updates in response to customer feedback, operational findings, and aircraft configuration changes.

• Maintains documentation schedules and ensures timely delivery of assigned technical publications.

• Uses content management systems and publishing tools to prepare and deliver electronic or printed publications.

• Ensures all documentation meets quality assurance requirements and passes internal and external audits.

• Collaborates with engineering, production, and sustainment teams to ensure accurate and user-friendly publications.

• Applies knowledge of multiple aircraft systems including Hydraulic, Lighting, Air Conditioning, Fire Protection, Oxygen, Emergency Power, Crew Escape and Safety, Canopy Jettison, Ejection Seat, Ice Protection, Pneumatic Supply, Towing and Taxiing, Structure, Corrosion Control, Nondestructive Inspections, Propulsion, Avionics, and Weapons.

Requirements:

• Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).

• Experience with Standard Group Markup Language (SGML) tagging.

• Experience with Extensible Markup Language (XML) tagging.

• Knowledge of multiple aircraft systems including Hydraulic, Lighting, Air Conditioning, Fire Protection, Oxygen, Emergency Power, Crew Escape and Safety, Canopy Jettison, Ejection Seat, Ice Protection, Pneumatic Supply, Towing and Taxiing, Structure, Corrosion Control, Nondestructive Inspections, Propulsion, Avionics, and Weapons.

• Prior technical writing experience strongly preferred.

• Preferred: Prior military aircraft maintenance experience.

• Preferred: Experience with military aircraft platforms using XML, S1000D, and Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETM) in a composite environment.

• Preferred: Experience using Epic Editor, Isodraw, Arbortext Tool Suite, XML, S1000D, or similar applications.

• Ability to review and validate technical content for accuracy and compliance.

• Ability to maintain documentation schedules and ensure timely delivery of publications.
