Position Summary:

The Technical Inside Sales Representative serves as the primary contact for technically complex customer needs, including product specifications, technical quotations, order support, and return coordination. This role requires a strong technical understanding of the company’s product lines, the ability to provide guidance on product selection and configuration, and clear, professional communication with customers, Sales, Applications Engineering, Operations, and Accounting. The Technical Inside Sales Representative ensures customer requirements are accurately translated into quotes and orders, and works closely with internal teams to support successful order fulfillment and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as a primary point of contact for customers seeking technical product information, quotes, or support.
• Respond to inbound calls, emails, and other customer inquiries promptly and professionally.
• Assist customers in identifying their technical needs and provide suitable solutions.
• Maintain and develop customer relationships to ensure repeat business and satisfaction.
• Prepare and send accurate quotations based on customer specifications, pricing, and delivery requirements.
• Ensure quotes align with current pricing models and guidelines.
• Track technical orders from inception through delivery, handling customer requests for modifications, status updates, or cancellations.
• Provide technical assistance to customers, explaining product features, specifications, and applications.
• Offer advice on product selection, customization, and configuration based on customer requirements and industry standards.
• Collaborate closely with outside sales, Applications Engineering, Operations, Warehouse, and Logistics teams to ensure products are delivered per customer requirements.

• Coordinate with manufacturers, regional sales managers, and other supplier partners to obtain technical information, pricing, lead times, and application support.

• Utilize available systems and internal resources to communicate accurate product availability and lead times to customers and sales partners.
• Enter and maintain accurate, timely customer information, order details, and sales activity in CRM and ERP systems to support visibility into quotes, orders, and customer interactions.
• Monitor and track open quotes and follow up with customers to win opportunities.
• Provide remote or in-person training to customers on proper use, installation, and maintenance of products.
• Organize and conduct product demonstrations when required.
• Investigate and resolve customer issues related to product performance, order discrepancies, and technical challenges.
• Work with internal teams to facilitate product returns, repairs, or replacements in accordance with company policies.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, products, and technologies through training, webinars, and internal meetings.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Strong technical aptitude with the ability to explain complex products and solutions to customers.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• High attention to detail with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient in using CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize in a dynamic environment.
• Knowledge of industrial applications and process control systems is preferred.
• Experience with valves, pumps, instrumentation, heat systems, or other related technical products is preferred.
• Familiarity with pricing, quoting, and order management processes.

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field (or equivalent work experience).
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in technical inside sales, engineering support, or a similar customer-facing technical role.
