POSITION OVERVIEW
The Technical Lead/Application Architect will deliver exceptional support to develop meaningful digital experience and strengthen our customer experience. The Tech Lead will support all digital applications, architecture, development, production support, and solutioning.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING- 5-10 years of experience developing large-scale enterprise applications, distributed systems, and cloud-native backend platforms.
- 3+ years of experience in a senior technical leadership role such as Technical Lead, Lead Engineer, or similar hands-on engineering leadership positions.
- Contribute to application and solution architecture while leading the design, development, and implementation of enterprise-scale solutions utilizing Java/J2EE, Spring Boot, Spring Integration, Spring Data, JPA, Hibernate, and related technologies.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to engineering teams through architecture reviews, design discussions, code reviews, and mentoring activities.
- Participate in architecture design governance, technology evaluation, technical decision-making, and solution reviews to ensure alignment with enterprise standards and architectural best practices.
- Drive adoption of cloud-native architectures and modern engineering practices using AWS services including EKS, ECS, Lambda, API Gateway, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, SNS, SQS, EventBridge, IAM, CloudWatch, and related technologies.
- Design and implement scalable microservices, REST APIs, event-driven architectures, and enterprise integration solutions utilizing Kafka, Red Hat AMQ, JMS, and similar messaging platforms.
- Lead technical design and engineering decisions for highly available, secure, resilient, and scalable distributed systems following AWS Well-Architected Framework principles.
- Drive architectural considerations related to scalability, performance, reliability, security, maintainability, observability, and operational excellence.
- Collaborate with product owners, architects, infrastructure teams, security teams, and business stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Champion DevOps, GitOps, and Infrastructure-as-Code practices utilizing tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, Jenkins, ArgoCD, and related CI/CD technologies.
- Evaluate, adopt, and promote AI-assisted engineering capabilities using tools such as GitHub Copilot, Amazon Q, Cursor, Claude, OpenAI, and similar solutions to improve development productivity and software quality.
- Lead proof-of-concepts, technology evaluations, modernization initiatives, and engineering innovation efforts involving cloud, platform engineering, observability, and AI-assisted development.
- Act as a technical mentor and trusted advisor while fostering a culture of innovation, continuous learning, and engineering excellence.
- Experience working within Agile delivery models and leading distributed Agile engineering teams.
WHAT’S NEEDED
• BS/MS degree
Desired Skills (not must haves, but nice to have skills)
- Proficiency in Python and experience with AI/ML frameworks and data-processing libraries.
- Experience integrating AI services using AWS Bedrock, Amazon Q, Azure AI, OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, or equivalent enterprise AI platforms.
- Experience in the Automotive industry.
- AWS, Kubernetes, AI/ML, or other relevant professional certifications
