Technical Operations Engineer

Role Overview

The Technical Operations Engineer is a hands-on role supporting end users, systems, and network infrastructure. This person will troubleshoot technical issues, support routers and switches, and take ownership of problems from initial report through resolution.

The ideal candidate has experience in help desk, desktop support, networking, or junior systems administration and is looking to continue growing technically.

Key Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot hardware, software, connectivity, and end-user support issues.
• Own tickets through resolution and communicate clearly with internal customers.
• Install, replace, and troubleshoot routers, switches, cabling, ports, and other network equipment.
• Diagnose Layer 1, Layer 2, and Layer 3 networking issues.
• Support systems administration, infrastructure maintenance, and equipment deployments.
• Document technical changes, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions.
• Escalate complex issues appropriately while maintaining follow-through.
• Participate in occasional scheduled Saturday morning work.

Qualifications

• Experience in network support, MSP, or NOC
• Working knowledge of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, routers, switches, and connectivity troubleshooting.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and customer-service skills.
• Dependable, accountable, and able to work in a fast-moving environment.
• Technical curiosity and a willingness to learn new systems and tools.
• Ability to work fully on-site in Miamisburg.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Microsoft 365, Active Directory, Windows environments, or ticketing systems.
• Ubiquiti Unifi experience, Fortinet FortiOS experience.
• MSP or other high-volume technical support experience.
