Position Summary
The Technical Packaging Operator is responsible for supporting bulk packaging operations by safely and efficiently packaging products, operating equipment, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring a clean and organized work environment.
Key Responsibilities
Run all technical and non-technical packaging lines including choice lines 1,2, 3, Pack Lines 6, 7, 8, and perform in mezzanine responsibilities.
Complete all required documentation for changeovers, production orders, metal detection, screens, and magnets.
Perform changeovers from one product to another.
Operate hoist and pallet jacks when required.
Load hoppers with bulk bag material (<2,500lb bags) using hoist.
Set up and operate sifter to ensure flow into the hopper.
Pack product into boxes or bags.
Read scale to ensure proper fill weight.
Feed bags through a bag sealer or tie liner and tape boxes using tape gun.
Perform metal detection and recordkeeping requirements for procedure.
Work as a team with packaging assistant and other team members.
Perform frequent cleaning of work area to ensure a safe food environment.
Perform scheduled allergen or color washouts to avoid contamination.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications / Physical Requirements
Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time.
Bending, stooping, kneeling required.
Must be able to read production orders to ensure product is labeled correctly.
Must be able to move about for long periods of time.
Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
Must be comfortable using a tablet for routine work tasks and data entry.
Salary Range:$23.15 - $25.93 - $28.70
Work Environment
Manufacturing/warehouse setting with exposure to moving equipment, noise, dust particles and varying temperatures.
Use of PPE required (e.g. safety shoes, glasses, gloves).
