Technical Producer – Minecraft Engineering Systems

Team Red Dog is hiring a Technical Producer – Minecraft Engineering Systems for our client, a Fortune 50 technology leader and creative technology powerhouse. This role will support the Minecraft Engineering Systems team, driving Agile execution, sprint planning, release coordination, and cross-functional delivery across engineering, QA, and product teams. You’ll own the operational rhythm that keeps builds, testing, dependencies, and milestones moving—from facilitating Scrum ceremonies and managing Azure DevOps work items to tracking blockers, release readiness, and team capacity. Top Required Skills (Must Haves):

1. 5–7 years of Technical Program Management, Producer, or similar project delivery experience, including ownership of cross-functional or cross-team initiatives in technical environments.
2. Deep hands-on experience with Azure DevOps (ADO), Jira, Confluence, or similar tools to manage work items, maintain backlogs, plan sprints, track milestones, and document delivery pipelines.
3. Strong working knowledge of Agile and Scrum methodologies, including facilitating sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives, backlog management, velocity/capacity tracking, and milestone delivery.
4. Experience coordinating complex technical dependencies, risks, release readiness, and validation efforts across engineering, QA, product, and other partner teams.

Opportunity Overview:

Join the Minecraft Engineering Systems team and help create the operational structure that enables developers to build, test, and deliver with confidence. This role sits at the center of engineering execution, partnering across technical and product teams to keep sprints, milestones, testing, releases, and dependencies moving forward. You’ll have significant ownership of team processes while helping reduce administrative overhead for engineering and product leaders so they can focus on technical direction, product strategy, and engineering health.

How you will make an impact:

• Facilitate sprint ceremonies, including sprint planning, stand-ups, triage, office hours, and retrospectives, both live and asynchronously.
• Own feature delivery schedules, work item assignments, milestone tracking, and team execution workflows.
• Create and maintain sprint and milestone dashboards, calendars, trackers, transition checklists, and delivery documentation.
• Create user story stubs, tasks, and bugs in partnership with engineering leads and product managers.
• Maintain and scrub the backlog, clear stale work, and ensure work items accurately reflect decisions, owners, status, and next steps.
• Track team velocity, capacity, milestone progress, critical-path work, and delivery commitments.
• Identify, track, and escalate risks, dependencies, blockers, unresolved bugs, and decisions requiring leadership attention.
• Prepare meeting agendas, pre-reads, status questions, action logs, reminders, and follow-up workflows.
• Represent features and workstreams in release forums alongside engineering and product leads.
• Review release queries, update required fields, clear stale work, and confirm next actions with feature owners.
• Consolidate changelog reviews and track feedback, outstanding items, and required follow-up.
• Partner with QA to coordinate validation and test plans, reproductions, regression tracking, release dependencies, and readiness signals.
• Coordinate partner commitments, technical initiatives, and cross-team dependencies to support predictable delivery.
• Maintain accurate Azure DevOps documentation and ensure execution information remains current and actionable.

The expertise you bring:

• Bachelor’s degree and 4+ years of experience in engineering, product or technical program management, product development, data analysis, game production, or a related discipline; equivalent professional experience may also be considered.
• 5–7 years of relevant experience is strongly preferred, particularly in Technical Program Manager or Producer roles.
• Deep familiarity with Azure DevOps (ADO), Jira, Confluence, or comparable project and work-management platforms.
• Strong knowledge of Agile and Scrum frameworks and experience managing team velocity, capacity, sprint execution, and milestone delivery.
• Experience managing complex cross-functional and/or cross-team projects in technical environments.
• Ability to bridge communication and execution gaps among programmers, creative teams, QA, product managers, and executive stakeholders.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple dependencies, deadlines, workstreams, and changing priorities.
• Ability to identify risks early, drive follow-up, resolve execution issues, and escalate decisions appropriately.
• Strong communication and facilitation skills, including the ability to motivate cross-functional teams and navigate conflict under tight deadlines.
• Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-moving, evolving environment.
• Producer or Technical Program Manager experience within a gaming studio is highly preferred.

A highly successful candidate combines 5–7 years of hands-on Technical Program Management or Producer experience with strong Agile execution skills and deep familiarity with tools such as Azure DevOps, Jira, or Confluence. Gaming studio experience is particularly valuable, as this role requires an understanding of how creative, engineering, QA, and product disciplines work together to deliver complex game experiences. Strong candidates will be comfortable independently running team rituals, maintaining disciplined backlogs and delivery tracking, anticipating dependencies and risks, and driving follow-through without requiring significant administrative oversight from product or engineering leaders. Success will ultimately be reflected in predictable delivery, effective team ceremonies, accurate planning and forecasting, timely resolution of blockers, and the ability to give PMs and engineering managers more time to focus on their highest-value responsibilities.
