Healthcare domain (eRx; Pharmacy Infrastructure)

Job Description:

Position Overview

Tenarai is seeking a highly skilled and strategic Technical Product Owner (TPO) to lead our managed services engagement for a client providing services in managed pharmacy applications area. In this dual-impact role, you will act as the primary

Project Manager overseeing delivery, while serving as the domain expert in electronic prescribing (eRx) and digital pharmacy infrastructure.

You will bridge the gap between client business objectives and the technical execution team. Beyond maintaining system stability and managing the sprint backlog, you will proactively leverage your digital health expertise to identify application gaps, propose technical enhancements, and uncover new commercial opportunities to expand Tenarai's footprint with client

Key Responsibilities

1. Project Management - Managed Services Delivery

Act as the primary point of contact and delivery manager for the engagement.

Lead Agile ceremonies (daily stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectives) for the dedicated Tenarai engineering team.

Define, track, and report on key SLA metrics, system uptime, issue resolution times, and velocity.

Manage risks, resolve blockers, and ensure enhancements are delivered on time and within scope.

2. Technical Product Ownership; Domain Guidance

Translate complex functional requirements into clear, technical user stories and acceptance criteria for engineers.

Maintain and prioritize the client healthcare application backlog, balancing critical bug fixes, technical debt, and new feature enhancements.

Apply deep knowledge of eRx workflows, pharmacy fulfillment, and healthcare data standards (e.g., NCPDP, HL7, FHIR) to guide architectural choices.

Ensure all application enhancements conform to strict healthcare regulatory standards, including HIPAA, SOC2, and DEA regulations for controlled substances.

3. Strategic Account Growth - Opportunity Identification

Analyze client's operational workflows and the application architecture to proactively identify technical bottlenecks, optimization gaps, or feature needs.

Formulate and present business cases for application enhancements that drive value for the client while expanding Tenarai footprint.

Build deep relationships with client stakeholders to position Tenarai as a strategic co-innovation partner rather than just a maintenance vendor.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience: 10+ years of experience as a Technical Product Owner, Product Manager, or Technical Project Manager, ideally within a healthcare IT or managed services environment.
  • Domain Expertise: Strong background in Digital Health, Telehealth, or HealthTech. Specific experience with electronic prescribing (eRx), pharmacy management systems (PMS), or medication fulfillment workflows is highly preferred.
  • Technical Literacy: Deep understanding of API-first architectures, web services, message queues, and cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP). You must be comfortable reading API documentation and discussing technical integrations with engineers.
  • Methodology: Expert-level mastery of Agile/Scrum methodologies and project management tooling (Jira, Confluence).
  • Compliance Knowledge: Solid understanding of HIPAA compliance, data privacy, and security practices in healthcare software.
  • Soft Skills: Exceptional client-facing communication, negotiation, and consultative selling skills. Ability to command authority with engineering teams while building trust with executive stakeholders.
