Description & Requirements

Bloomberg’s Office of the CTO is the forward-looking technical arm of Bloomberg L.P. We envision the future of Bloomberg’s business, and work to determine how technology helps achieve that vision. Above all else, we are passionate about what we do.

Our cybersecurity and Information Security program is the bedrock of Bloomberg’s strategy to deliver secure, reliable and robust products to our clients. As the security threat landscape continues to evolve, protecting the company requires tight partnership across all aspects of the organization. We are seeking an experienced individual contributor to operate at the center of this program, bringing clarity and momentum to its execution.

In this role, you will partner closely with senior leadership across the CISO, Risk, Engineering, Product, and CTO departments to ensure our programs are delivering meaningful and measurable outcomes. By collaborating with teams responsible for strategy and execution, you will provide a critical assurance lens ensuring alignment, transparency and effectiveness in delivering outcomes across the program. Additionally, you will drive the executive governance of the Information Security program, ensuring it functions as a high-impact decision-making body with clear inputs, actionable metrics, and strong accountability.

What’s in it for you:

- High visibility opportunity to support executive leadership of our Information Security program providing insights into the execution of the larger strategy.

- Cross-functional influence partnering closely with leaders across Engineering, Risk and CISO, CTO, Legal, and Compliance teams.

- Strategic and executional depth, operating across complex security domains while building leadership credibility with both technical and business teams.

We’ll trust you to:

- Drive program assurance for the Information Security program by building and maintaining a cohesive, evidence–based view across multiple departments.

- Partner with senior leaders across teams to identify gaps, clarify ownership, and ensure delivery aligns to Bloomberg’s Information Security strategy.

- Develop clear and concise outcome-based reporting for executive stakeholders including KPIs, KRIs, and program health indicators.

- Drive the executive governance process and facilitate Information Security steering committee meetings.

- Look beyond individual projects to identify broader issues and patterns - dependency risks, prioritization conflicts, or operating model gaps, and elevate them appropriately.

- Align and integrate with existing program management and product delivery frameworks enabling consistent execution, clear ownership, and measurable security outcomes.

What we’re looking for:

- 7+ years of experience working on large-scale, complex programs with a strong focus on program assurance across outcomes, execution, and strategic alignment.

- An understanding of core security domains (e.g., infrastructure security, credential and key management, identity and access management (IAM), endpoint security).

- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to engage credibly with senior executives and technical teams.

- Demonstrated ability to influence without authority and align multiple stakeholders around a shared vision.

- Strong analytical and organizational skills, with a focus on execution and delivery.

We’d love to see:

- Experience leading or supporting enterprise-scale security or risk programs.

- Familiarity with industry security and regulatory frameworks (e.g., NIST CSF, ISO 27001, SOC 2, DORA) and how programs map to them.

- Proficiency in structuring and maintaining scalable program tracking (e.g. JIRA boards, structure, reporting views, and workflows).
