The impact you'll make

As a Technical Program Manager at Lam within the Pilot organization, you are not just overseeing projects-you're orchestrating breakthroughs in support of new product development and the release of industry-leading semiconductor equipment. You'll lead cross-functional teams through successful project execution, blending your technical excellence with strategic planning to deliver new or upgraded products. Your role is vital, owning technical projects from initiation through delivery using your expertise in planning, directing, and monitoring schedules and budgets. In this role, you will directly contribute to enabling fast and competitively differentiated transitions of new products to our high-volume manufacturing partners by taking on broad, challenging, and continuously evolving responsibilities.

What you'll do

  • Lead cross-functional teams using program phase gates to deliver New Product Introduction.
  • Manage transition schedules and upstream milestones.
  • Oversee the optimization of projects by developing project plans, aligning teams, managing risk, and driving projects through release.
  • Take ownership and accountability for the success of projects and cross-functional teams to ensure program schedules, performance metrics, and delivery meet business requirements on time and within budget.
  • Partner with stakeholders to understand process and system requirements, and deliver enhancements based on a changing technology landscape.
  • Run Continuous Improvement projects from inception to impactful results.
  • Perform data collection and statistical analysis, and report results to inform program schedules and deliverables.
  • Influence cross-functional stakeholders to continuously improve processes and inspire alignment.
  • Successfully navigate multiple projects in a dynamic environment.
Who we're looking for
  • Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of experience; or Master's degree with 6+ years of experience; or a PhD with 3+ years of experience; or equivalent experience.
  • 6+ years of continuous improvement or technical program management experience.
  • Experience guiding cross-functional teams and demonstrating leadership and influencing skills to deliver results.
  • Excellent communication and executive presentation skills, with the ability to present to audiences at all levels in the company.
  • Strong engineering and manufacturing operations knowledge.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills.
  • Ability to apply communication and problem-solving skills in a variety of business contexts.
  • Experience delivering formal presentations to leadership, management, and individual contributors.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams while advising teams and individuals.
  • Experience providing coaching and training as needed.
  • Strong track record of success in program scheduling, including establishing milestones and checkpoints and tracking changes.
  • Ownership of multidimensional skill sets in operations, product management, and/or engineering.
  • Ability to manage risks and issues until resolved or mitigated.
  • Excellence in teamwork and team building.
Preferred qualifications
  • Product Design or Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Project and Program Management.
  • Analytical techniques and data-driven problem solving.
  • Experience in semiconductor fabrication, semiconductor equipment operations, or related industries is a plus.
  • Knowledge of program management methods and experience in Product Development and Release (PDR) procedures.
  • Relevant project management certifications such as PMP, CAPM, Scrum Master, or PRINCE2.
  • Experience in Lean Six Sigma methodology or certification (Green Belt, Black Belt) is a plus.
  • Experience in change management methodologies is a plus.

Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories - On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. 'On-site Flex' you'll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. 'Virtual Flex' you'll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
