Job Description
Position Summary
As the Technical Program Manager (APM), you will be the driving force behind the delivery of a large-scale enterprise data platform for Arch Insurance. This is a critical role requiring a deep understanding of the P&C Insurance domain and cutting-edge cloud data technologies. The environment is high-pressure and focuses heavily on production support, coordinating daily, monthly, and quarterly data loads, and managing live views rather than pure development.

  • Domain Expertise: Mandatory background in Property & Casualty (PNC) Insurance, including the Policy and Claims lifecycle and Reinsurance.
  • PNC Specific Knowledge: Proficiency in specific lines of business such as Workers Compensation, General Liability, Automotive, Property, or Surety.
  • Insurance Terminology: Must understand industry-specific language such as coverage, perils, gross premium, and gross claim.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proven success delivering Snowflake (expert level) or similar cloud data platforms, Data Lakes, and Data Warehouses.
  • Data Engineering: Strong understanding of data ingestion frameworks (ETL/ELT), SQL, and data modeling.
  • Technology Stack: Familiarity with Data Bricks and working on the "data side" of applications rather than front-end development.
  • Certifications: Cloud certifications (specifically Azure) and data-related certifications (specifically Snowflake) are required.
  • Emerging Tech: Exposure to GenAI use cases within the insurance industry.
Key Responsibilities
  • End-to-End Delivery: Lead technical execution of the data platform using Agile (Scrum) methodologies from inception to completion.
  • Production Support Oversight: Manage the pressure of supporting 14 to 15 existing live views, plus additional views for National Accounts, Construction, and Entertainment lines.
  • Data Pipeline Supervision: Oversee complex pipelines moving data from source systems through Abstract, Validation, and Data Store layers.
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Act as the primary communicator for senior leadership and coordinate between numerous APMs and offshore/onshore teams.
  • Operational Management: Manage RAG status, project budgets, forecasting, and late-hour coordination required in a high-pressure production environment.
  • Governance: Enforce data architecture standards, security policies, and best practices for data lineage and quality.
Education
  • Bachelor's or Master's in Information technology, Computer Science or related field.
