    Job Description

AWS Data Center Capacity Delivery (DCCD) is looking for a Technical Program Manager to develop and implement a cost management platform to support the global DCCD organization. Responsibilities include establishing the product roadmap, tool development, and ongoing maintenance. In addition to these responsibilities, this role also has program management duties such as inventing and simplifying processes, managing program communications, onboarding and training users, and establishing training and program related documentation.

This Technical Program Manager must be detailed, flexible, and take strong ownership of a global user base, including system functionality and process implementation. The successful candidate will be obsessed with internal and external system user groups, responsible for scoping and driving implementation of system functionality to the global team. They can work independently to prioritize, craft, and execute deliverables as well as effectively work with partner teams that impact their primary user group.

This role sits within DCCD and is part of a larger organization that is diverse, positive, exceptionally talented, and driven. This organization is responsible for the design, construction, and operation of industry-leading data center facilities. The candidate must excel at managing multiple priorities and learning the pain points of their primary users. They must execute system implementation effectively across subject matter experts with a broad range of disciplines or cultural and regional differences. The ideal candidate operates effectively in an ambiguous environment and drives structure without constraining business objectives. They have a demonstrated track record of managing multiple projects and driving them to completion. Because this role influences global team members, the candidate must also be highly collaborative, able to influence without authority, and able to work with significant autonomy.

    Key job responsibilities

Develop and manage project timelines and resources and ensure risk mitigation actions are identified and in place to ensure successful program launches.

Create and clearly communicate program deliverables, priorities, and status to multiple internal and external stakeholders.

Coordinate with multiple global and cross-functional teams to achieve global goals.

Understand the business requirements of our partners and work closely with the internal and external teams to achieve program launch milestones.

Work in a self-directed manner, seeking out areas that need attention, rather than being asked to look at specific problem areas.

Develop long-term strategy for tool ownership and maintenance.

    About Company

At Amazon, we don’t wait for the next big idea to present itself. We envision the shape of impossible things and then we boldly make them reality. So far, this mindset has helped us achieve some incredible things. Let’s build new systems, challenge the status quo, and design the world we want to live in. We believe the work you do here will be the best work of your life.

Wherever you are in your career exploration, Amazon likely has an opportunity for you. Our research scientists and engineers shape the future of natural language understanding with Alexa. Fulfillment center associates around the globe send customer orders from our warehouses to doorsteps. Product managers set feature requirements, strategy, and marketing messages for brand new customer experiences. And as we grow, we’ll add jobs that haven’t been invented yet.

    It’s Always Day 1
At Amazon, it’s always “Day 1.” Now, what does this mean and why does it matter? It means that our approach remains the same as it was on Amazon’s very first day – to make smart, fast decisions, stay nimble, invent, and stay focused on delighting our customers. In our 2016 shareholder letter, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos shared his thoughts on how to keep up a Day 1 company mindset. “Staying in Day 1 requires you to experiment patiently, accept failures, plant seeds, protect saplings, and double down when you see customer delight,” he wrote. “A customer-obsessed culture best creates the conditions where all of that can happen.” You can read the full letter here

    Our Leadership Principles
Our Leadership Principles help us keep a Day 1 mentality. They aren’t just a pretty inspirational wall hanging. Amazonians use them, every day, whether they’re discussing ideas for new projects, deciding on the best solution for a customer’s problem, or interviewing candidates.
