Technical Program Manager (TPM) - Customer Domain

Ford Motor Credit Company is seeking a Technical Program Manager (TPM) to join our Accounts Servicing Systems team. As the TPM for our Customer Domain, you will be the connective tissue between stakeholders, product management, and software engineering. You will use your expertise to create clarity, reduce risk, and improve quality across complex, cross-functional initiatives.

If you have a learner's mindset and a passion for technology, this is an opportunity to grow and develop as a leader, a team member, and a champion forFord.

Responsibilities

What You Will Do...

  • Lead planning and execution for strategic Accounts platform initiatives. Define scope, timelines, resource needs, and success criteria aligned with business objectives, customer outcomes, and regulatory requirements.
  • Drive delivery across engineering, QA, operations, architecture, compliance, and business stakeholders. Manage dependencies and integrations with upstream/downstream systems to ensure smooth coordination.
  • Establish and run project governance rituals (kickoffs, status meetings, steering committees, retrospectives). Track project KPIs (schedule variance, scope changes, quality metrics, delivery velocity) and communicate complex technical issues in clear, business-focused language.
  • Collaborate with security, risk, and compliance teams to ensure all deliverables meet strict regulatory requirements (e.g., SOX, GDPR) and audit standards.
  • Manage project scope and change control. Assess impacts of scope changes, clearly communicate tradeoffs, and ensure stakeholder alignment. Lead change management activities including release planning, deployment schedules, runbooks, and rollback plans.
  • Facilitate requirements gathering, ensuring traceability from business needs through technical implementation and testing. Maintain project documentation, lessons learned, and knowledge transfer materials.
Qualifications

You'll have...

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, a related business discipline, or equivalent relevant work experience.
  • 3 - 5+ years of experience in a program management or product management role, working collaboratively with senior-level business and technology leaders.
  • A strong technical background with an understanding of enterprise systems, APIs, integration patterns, reliability/observability, and cloud infrastructure.
  • Proven experience managing technical projects in highly regulated environments with strict change control and compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency with project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, hybrid) and tools (JIRA, MS Project, Confluence, etc.).
  • Experience developing and prioritizing strategic roadmaps based on diverse inputs, while managing multiple concurrent tracks of work.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze data to identify areas of growth, extract meaningful trends, and recommend actionable solutions.

Even better, if you have...

  • Experience working directly with critical, high-availability systems (such as financial, accounts, or servicing systems).
  • Exposure to both legacy technologies and modern tech stacks (cloud platforms, containers, event streaming, microservices).
  • Familiarity with specific technologies and practices used by our software engineers, including Java, GCP (Google Cloud Platform), Git/GitHub, CI/CD pipelines, and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices.

You may not check every box, or your experience may look a little different from what we've outlined, but if you think you can bring value to Ford Motor Company, we encourage you to apply!

As an established global company, we offer the benefit of choice. You can choose what your Ford future will look like: will your story span the globe, or keep you close to home?
