Position Overview A well-established consumer products manufacturer is seeking a Senior Technical Program Manager to lead the development and commercialization of connected consumer products. This is a highly cross-functional role responsible for driving products from concept through design, prototype, validation, certification, manufacturing, and launch. The ideal candidate combines strong technical knowledge of electronics and embedded systems with the program management experience necessary to coordinate electrical, firmware, mechanical, manufacturing, and external development teams. This position would require relocation to Tennessee. Key Responsibilities
Lead the end-to-end product development lifecycle from concept through production and launch.
Own program schedules, milestones, development gates, deliverables, risks, and cross-functional execution.
Coordinate across electrical hardware, firmware, mechanical engineering, IoT, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain teams.
Review and interpret PCBA schematics and layouts, including considerations around power, signal integrity, and EMI/EMC.
Partner with engineering teams during board bring-up, debugging, testing, and technical design trade-offs.
Apply knowledge of Gerber files, PCB fabrication, DFM/DFA, and production requirements throughout the development process.
Lead prototype, engineering validation, pilot, and production builds.
Drive design-for-manufacturing, cost optimization, production readiness, and issue resolution.
Coordinate connected-product integration and certification across technologies and ecosystems including Wi-Fi, BLE, Matter, Alexa, Google Home, and Apple Home.
Manage regulatory and product certification requirements, including exposure to FCC, CE, and UL processes.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related technical discipline.
Approximately 10+ years of experience in consumer electronics, connected products, IoT, or smart-home product development.
5+ years leading complex technical projects/programs and cross-functional teams.
Strong understanding of embedded electronics, firmware/hardware interaction, and PCB/PCBA development.
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and PCB layouts.
Hands-on familiarity with Gerber files, PCB fabrication, board bring-up, and PCB design/development tools.
Knowledge of wireless technologies such as Wi-Fi, BLE, Thread, Zigbee, and Matter.
Experience taking physical consumer products through development, validation, manufacturing, and commercialization.
Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple complex programs simultaneously.
