JOB TITLE: Technical Program Manager
LOCATION: Foster City, CA (Hybrid; 3 days in office/week)
PAY RANGE: $80 - $90/hr.
DURATION:6 Months

TOP 3 SKILLS:
  • BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent with 8+ years of experience.
  • 5+ years in technical / engineering program management and 3+ years as a hardware product development engineer, with proven end-to-end cross-functional program management experience.
  • Experience managing international suppliers with willingness to travel; familiarity with Polarion and JIRA preferred.

Job Description:

You will work with a team of world-class engineers with diverse backgrounds in areas such as hardware engineering, software, firmware, safety, systems engineering, product, and operations to achieve our strategic and tactical milestones. You will support the Sensor Cleaning Programs and work with the team to achieve cross-functional alignment, develop project schedules, identify milestones, mitigate risks, and clearly communicate ongoing progress.

Responsibilities:
  • Work with leaders to translate top-down corporate strategy and milestones into detailed road maps, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Ensure every team understands what and when they need to deliver at all times.
  • Serve as the primary program contact for external suppliers of sensor cleaning components, ensuring their adherence to technical specifications, development milestones, and validation plans.
  • Support and manage internal core team meetings with agenda setting, note-taking, and follow-up actions. Develop and maintain standard reports and organized documentation to deliver concise, effective updates on program status, risks, and accomplishments to key stakeholders.
  • In partnership with the core team, own and update the program plan, finance, and budget plans consistently.
  • Ensure problems are transparent, risks are identified, and properly assessed. Proactively drive issue resolution and track closely to ensure that risk-mitigating actions are effectively executed.
  • Support key decisions to be made by working cross-functionally to understand and develop options for action, and then making recommendations.
  • Support the AHE TPM team with the program management and operational activities as needed. This could include working with managers on issue tracking and ticket hygiene, quarterly planning, and developing new KPIs and other methods to measure performance that best translate progress toward goals.

Qualifications:
  • BS or MS degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience with at least 8 years of working experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience in technical / engineering program management.
  • At least 3 years of experience as an engineer in hardware product development.
  • Reference and proven track record of managing complex cross-functional programs end-to-end.
  • Experience and ability to manage international suppliers. Flexibility to travel internationally as needed.
  • Comfortable leading through ambiguity and enabling teams to perform in this environment
  • Ability to keep the big picture in focus while also providing clear, well-structured, and concise communications tailored to each appropriate audience.
  • Strong ability to context switch between multiple topics simultaneously, and operate in dynamic and complex environments.
  • Excellent communications, collaboration, and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and detail-oriented.
  • Experience with requirements management software (Polarion) and task tracking software (JIRA) preferred.
  • Experience in Smartsheet, Lucidchart and gSuite/MS Suite

Bonus Qualifications:
  • Project Manager Professional certification (PMP) or equivalent.
  • Experience with autonomous vehicles, test platforms, simulation, and automotive or aerospace processes is highly desired.
  • Experience with HW development of electronics, pneumatics, and hydraulic systems.
