Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience in program management or engineering leadership.
  • Experience with site reliability engineering, developer operations, and developer experience metrics.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 10 years of experience managing complex cross-functional or cross-team projects.
  • 10 years of experience managing execution of programs that span multiple engineering teams.
  • Experience in systems reliability engineering at scale.
  • Understanding of the product life-cycle in a fast-moving environment.
  • Ability to influence and collaborate effectively across organizational boundaries.

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

To achieve this, GCPR provides platform-wide reliability standards and tools to ensure consistent adoption of reliability best practices.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. US: $240000 - $334000 (USD) + 25% bonus target + bonus + equity + benefitsLearn more about benefits at Google.

Responsibilities

  • Own a portfolio of GCP-wide reliability programs (codes and horizontals).
  • Evaluate potential issues/opportunities which may require GCP-wide solutions, improving our ability to execute GCP-wide programs.
  • Gather cross-group, cross-functional data, analysis, and planning. Plan for ongoing analysis/response, investment-levels, and eventual clean end of programs.
  • Leverage local expertise and strategic understanding of longer-term goals to drive excellence beyond your local portfolio.
  • Work with leadership and other program management organizations to discover and understand and share best practices/efficiencies.
