Minimum qualifications:
Bachelor"s degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
10 years of experience in program management.
7 years of experience in leadership roles with/without direct reports.
Experience with artificial intelligence/machine learning projects, tools, or infrastructure.
Preferred qualifications:
10 years of experience managing cross-functional/team projects.
8 years of experience leading massive, cross-functional programs from conception to deployment, typically spanning multiple distinct product areas or backend systems.
Expertise in establishing success metrics (OKRs), leveraging data analysis for resource stewardship, and developing technical roadmaps for multi-quarter initiatives.
Extensive background in software engineering, distributed systems, network architecture, or cloud computing platforms to credibly challenge engineering decisions and identify system design risks.
About the job
Google"s projects, like our users, span the globe and require managers to keep the big picture in focus while being able to dive into the unique engineering challenges we face daily. As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you lead complex, multi-disciplinary engineering projects using your engineering expertise. You plan requirements with internal customers and usher projects through the entire project lifecycle. This includes managing project schedules, identifying risks and clearly communicating them to project stakeholders. You"re equally at home explaining your team"s analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical trade-offs in product development with engineers.
Using your extensive technical and leadership expertise, you manage various Engineering-specific programs and teams.
As a Technical Program Manager (TPM) for Google Flow, you will act as a strategic business partner, technical visionary, and the central nervous system for this high-visibility product.
Your mission is to lead complex, end-to-end program governance and drive execution across highly interconnected disciplines, including AI/ML research, cloud infrastructure, product, UX, and legal/trust and safety. Operating in an ambiguous and rapidly evolving technical landscape, you will define long-term program architecture, align executive stakeholders, establish data-driven operational rhythms, and ensure that Google Flow"s AI features are delivered securely, reliably, and at scale.

Our team exists to help discover and create new ways to advance our core products through exploration and the application of new technologies. We work to build new solutions that have the potential to transform how users interact with Google. Our goal is to drive innovation by developing new Google products and capabilities that deliver significant impact over longer timeframes.
Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
US: $240000 - $333000 (USD) + 25% bonus target + equity + benefits
