    About the job

A problem isn't truly solved until it's solved for all. That's why Googlers build products that help create opportunities for everyone, whether down the street or across the globe. As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you'll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You'll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You"re equally comfortable explaining your team"s analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

The Data Center Incidents and Availability (DCIA) Team maximizes post facility ready (FR) uptime by identifying risk proactively and preventing incidents before they happen, developing global standardized programs to provide all operational personnel the capability to reduce the impact of infrastructure events, delivering high-quality postmortems to minimize the chance of incident recurrence, and measuring performance and producing high-quality reports.

As the Critical Work Process (CWP) Technical Program Manager, you will serve as the global lead for program policy and execution across the data center fleet under the greater Operational Performance Framework and in collaboration with the Human Performance Fundamentals program. You will own the end-to-end policy framework, ensuring that electrical, mechanical, and controls domains remain aligned with critical work criteria while adapting to evolving operational needs. You will be responsible for managing program enhancements by fielding feature request bugs and translating postmortem trends into actionable program improvements that enhance reliability and safety.

The Data Center team designs and operates some of the most sophisticated electrical and HVAC systems in the world. We are an upbeat, creative, team-oriented group of engineers committed to building and operating powerful data centers.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

    US: $138000 - $197000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits

    Responsibilities

    • Manage and evolve the global critical work process program and policy, ensuring alignment across all equipment domains including Electrical, Mechanical, and Controls.

    • Field and prioritize program bugs, driving the development of tools and processes that optimize critical work execution.

    • Develop and maintain comprehensive training curricula, including instructor-led materials and LMS modules.

    • Coordinate and manage regional trainers to deliver training sessions to the global fleet, ensuring consistent adoption of program standards.

    • Translate critical operation event trends and Data Center Facility Availability data into measurable reporting, scalable action items and policy updates to prevent incident recurrence. Create and deliver an annual report to leadership reflecting these measurements and associated improvement work.
