JOB TITLE: Technical Program Manager, Manufacturing Operations
LOCATION: Foster City, CA (Onsite)
PAY RANGE: $80 - $90/hr.
DURATION: 6 Months

TOP 4 SKILLS:
  • Hardware program management background core experience must be in physical/hardware product development, not software or systems integration. This means managing BOMs, component qualification, hardware validation cycles, and physical supply chains. Software PM experience alone does not transfer to this role.
  • Multi-tier automotive supply chain fluency has directly managed or escalated through OEM Tier1 Tier2/3 dependencies, not just operated within a single tier. Understands how decisions cascade through the supply chain hierarchy (e.g., a Tier2 component change rippling into an OEM PPAP submission)
  • C ross-functional program ownership without direct authority demonstrated accountability across engineering, purchasing, supply chain, and manufacturing simultaneously; able to work through functional representatives and connect directly with senior stakeholders when needed
  • Automotive program lifecycle experience hands-on with gate-driven development (APQP, PPAP, SOP milestones); understands the cost and schedule implications of late changes and can manage deliverables across long program timelines
Job Description:
Technical Program Manager within Manufacturing Operations to support the execution of product changes into production. You ll coordinate cross-functional work across Product Engineering, Supply Chain & Logistics, Quality, and Manufacturing to move changes from proposal through readiness and cut-in, ensuring clear ownership, clean data, and on-time implementation.

Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate cross-functional change activities; keep scope, owners, dates, and risks aligned.
  • Prep decision forums, gather inputs ahead of meetings, record decisions/actions, and drive follow-through.
  • Maintain Jira workflows/boards/filters; keep trackers clean and publish concise weekly rollups.
  • Partner with Supply Chain & Logistics on on-hand/WIP/POs, alternates, lead times, and material exposure for cut-in timing.
  • Monitor readiness signals (validation evidence, quality gates, work instructions) and escalate blockers with options.
  • Keep a clear decision log and change health view (aging, upcoming cut-ins).
  • Continuously simplify templates, entry/exit criteria, and handoffs to reduce friction.

Qualifications:
  • BS in engineering or equivalent practical experience.
  • 6-8 years of experience in hardware program management or manufacturing operations (change control/NPI preferred).
  • Proficiency with Jira (boards, filters, basic workflow hygiene).
  • High-proficiency with excel/google sheets.
  • Working knowledge of 3DX BOM navigation (parts/revs/effectivity, where-used, EBOM vs MBOM).
  • Supply chain basics: lead times, on-hand/WIP/POs, alternates/subs, last-time-buy concepts.

Top 3 Nice-to-Haves
  • Supplier nomination & re-source experience has worked alongside purchasing on sourcing decisions; understands dual-sourcing strategy and supplier development
  • Manufacturing launch exposure familiarity with line readiness, build sequencing around constraints, launch risk management, and run-at-rate/capacity verification
  • Executive-level communication able to synthesize complex, multi-functional program status for senior stakeholders and drive decisions under ambiguity

BENEFITS SUMMARY: Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base hourly rate or annual salary only, unless otherwise stated. In addition to base compensation, full-time roles are eligible for Medical, Dental, Vision, Commuter and 401K benefits with company matching.
