About the job

A problem isn’t truly solved until it’s solved for all. That’s why Googlers build products that help create opportunities for everyone, whether down the street or across the globe. As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

As a technical core of Google Public Sector (GPS), you will drive government transformation. You will bridge the gap between product engineering and mission execution, crafting scalable, custom solutions that embed Google's AI and security infrastructure. Your work ensures deployment and direct alignment with the most demanding customer requirements.

Google Public Sector brings the magic of Google to the mission of government and education with solutions purpose-built for enterprises. We focus on helping United States public sector institutions accelerate their digital transformations, and we continue to make significant investments and grow our team to meet the complex needs of local, state and federal government and educational institutions.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the lifecycle of large, ambiguous technical programs from concept to global rollout. Define long-term goal, strategy, and Objectives and Key Results (OKRs), ensuring all initiatives align with broader organizational goals and objectives.
  • Foster consensus across engineering, product management, and UX teams. Influence without authority to resolve resource gaps, navigate conflicting priorities, and bridge team boundaries for seamless execution.
  • Participate in architectural reviews and design discussions. Provide high-level technical judgment on critical trade-offs, such as scalability versus velocity, to ensure long-term system health and performance.
  • Identify and mitigate complex technical risks and dependencies. Develop contingency plans for critical-path items to ensure the on-time delivery of high-impact features.
  • Establish governance structures and communication cadences using an AI-first approach.
