Description The Central Science Team within Amazon's People Experience and Technology org (PXTCS) uses economics, behavioral science, statistics, and machine learning to proactively identify mechanisms and process improvements which simultaneously improve Amazon and the lives, well-being, and the value of work to Amazonians. We are an interdisciplinary team, which combines the talents of science and engineering to develop and deliver solutions that measurably achieve this goal. We are seeking a Sr. Technical Program Manager (TPM) to own and drive the Automated Causal Evaluation (ACE) platform - a self-service tool that enables program managers across Amazon to design and evaluate the causal impact of employee programs using A/B testing, matching, and synthetic difference-in-differences methods. ACE has evaluated 280+ programs across 130+ users and is expanding rapidly with new capabilities including a GenAI chatbot, API integrations, a searchable repository of past evaluations, and an ROI recommendations engine. You will work at the intersection of the ACE Science Team - economists, data scientists, and applied scientists who develop and maintain ACE's causal inference models - and the ACE Tech Team - UX researchers, software development engineers, and product managers who build and ship the platform. Your role is to ensure these teams deliver a cohesive product on time, coordinating across science development, engineering implementation, UX research, and customer-facing launches. You will manage the end-to-end program lifecycle for ACE's roadmap: scoping new capabilities with the science and product teams, translating scientific methodology into engineering requirements, developing detailed plans with milestones and dependencies, tracking execution across multiple parallel workstreams, and driving resolution when science and engineering tradeoffs arise. You will own the release cadence for ACE's phased UI launches, API rollouts, and model migrations, ensuring each release meets quality and usability standards. You will also manage ACE's growing customer relationships - coordinating with teams such as Global Operations Learning & Development (GOLD), Centralized Learning Solutions (CLS), and Amazon eXperience and Upskilling (AXU) who are integrating ACE into their workflows. This includes managing intake processes, tracking evaluation pipelines, and ensuring customer feedback informs the product roadmap. Providing executive visibility into ACE's progress, impact, and risks is critical. You will contribute to business reviews, develop metrics that track ACE's adoption and effectiveness, and help shape the strategic narrative for ACE within PXTCS and across PXT. Mentoring and developing more junior TPMs is also expected. This is a unique opportunity to shape how Amazon evaluates the impact of its employee programs at scale. Ideal candidates will have experience managing technical programs involving data science or ML models, working with cross-functional science and engineering teams, and delivering customer-facing products. If you are passionate about driving evidence-based decision-making through technology, we would love to hear from you. Key job responsibilities - Managing the lifecycle of ACE platform releases across science, engineering, UX, and product teams - Coordinating parallel workstreams including model development, UI launches, API integrations, and AI-powered features - Managing customer integrations and ensuring evaluation pipelines run smoothly - Developing and tracking program metrics, milestones, and risk mitigation strategies - Contributing to OP1/OP2 narratives and taking ownership of organizational goals - Providing executive visibility through business reviews and status reporting - Driving cross-team alignment when science and engineering tradeoffs arise Basic Qualifications - 5+ years of technical product or program management experience - 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience - 3+ years of software development experience - 5+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience - Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules Preferred Qualifications - 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience - Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules - Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status. Amazon

At Amazon, we don’t wait for the next big idea to present itself. We envision the shape of impossible things and then we boldly make them reality. So far, this mindset has helped us achieve some incredible things. Let’s build new systems, challenge the status quo, and design the world we want to live in. We believe the work you do here will be the best work of your life.

Wherever you are in your career exploration, Amazon likely has an opportunity for you. Our research scientists and engineers shape the future of natural language understanding with Alexa. Fulfillment center associates around the globe send customer orders from our warehouses to doorsteps. Product managers set feature requirements, strategy, and marketing messages for brand new customer experiences. And as we grow, we’ll add jobs that haven’t been invented yet.

It’s Always Day 1
At Amazon, it’s always “Day 1.” Now, what does this mean and why does it matter? It means that our approach remains the same as it was on Amazon’s very first day – to make smart, fast decisions, stay nimble, invent, and stay focused on delighting our customers. In our 2016 shareholder letter, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos shared his thoughts on how to keep up a Day 1 company mindset. “Staying in Day 1 requires you to experiment patiently, accept failures, plant seeds, protect saplings, and double down when you see customer delight,” he wrote. “A customer-obsessed culture best creates the conditions where all of that can happen.” You can read the full letter here

Our Leadership Principles
Our Leadership Principles help us keep a Day 1 mentality. They aren’t just a pretty inspirational wall hanging. Amazonians use them, every day, whether they’re discussing ideas for new projects, deciding on the best solution for a customer’s problem, or interviewing candidates.
