Technical Program & Project Management Specialist (SAP Project Manager)

Location: Dearborn, MI

Schedule: Hybrid (4 days onsite per week)

Contract: W2

Compensation: $56-58 (with benefits)

Overview

Epitec is seeking an experienced Technical Program & Project Management Specialist (SAP Project Manager) to support a large-scale SAP S/4HANA ERP transformation initiative. This role is ideal for a highly organized project leader who combines strong SAP program management expertise with advanced JIRA administration skills and experience leading Agile and hybrid delivery teams.

The successful candidate will drive project execution, facilitate governance activities, coordinate release management efforts, and ensure visibility across multiple product teams while delivering critical SAP initiatives on time and within scope.

Responsibilities

• Support governance and execution activities for a large-scale SAP S/4HANA ERP program.
• Lead tactical project activities while aligning with overall strategic program objectives.
• Manage EPICs, Features, User Stories, Tasks, and Product Backlogs within JIRA.
• Maintain program-level CRAID logs, including Change Requests, Risks, Assumptions, Issues, and Decisions.
• Monitor project scope, timelines, dependencies, risks, and change-control processes.
• Coordinate Program Increment (PI) planning activities, workshops, presentations, logistics, and product team readiness efforts.
• Facilitate iteration reviews, retrospectives, and cross-functional planning activities.
• Manage integration dependencies between SAP ERP modules and legacy or third-party applications.
• Support release management activities, including cutover planning, testing cycles, training readiness, and production deployments.
• Identify and remove blockers, escalate issues appropriately, and ensure teams remain aligned with delivery objectives.
• Develop and maintain project schedules, resource plans, budgets, risk registers, and executive reporting materials.
• Prepare governance updates, steering committee presentations, and status reports.
• Drive continuous improvement in project delivery practices, reporting standards, and JIRA governance.
• Facilitate project closeout activities, lessons learned sessions, and transition to steady-state operations.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.

• Minimum of 6 years of IT experience.

• Minimum of 3 years of SAP project or program management experience.

• Experience managing SAP implementations, upgrades, enhancements, migrations, or production support initiatives.

• Expert-level experience with JIRA, including:

• Board administration

• Workflow configuration and automation

• Dashboard development

• JQL queries

• Backlog management

• Confluence integration

• Strong understanding of Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, and hybrid project delivery methodologies.

• Experience coordinating release management activities and cross-functional delivery teams.

• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, facilitation, and presentation skills.

• Ability to manage multiple concurrent initiatives and competing priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with ServiceNow or other ITSM platforms.

• Experience supporting automotive or manufacturing organizations.
