Our client, a hospitality and tourism industry company, is looking for a Technical Project & Billing Operations Manager for their Atlanta, GA location

Responsibilities:
  • The Technical Project & Billing Operations Manager is a hands-on contractor role with dual responsibility for managing technical workstreams within larger Groups & Events projects and executing day-to-day billing operations for the Groups & Events product portfolio.
  • The role requires someone who can coordinate and drive assigned technical workstreams while also performing the billing activities needed to operate the program accurately and consistently.
  • The successful candidate will work across Product, Technology, Integrations, G&E Team, Finance, Legal, and external partners.
  • In addition to executing recurring billing activities, this person will document the end-to-end billing process, establish repeatable procedures, and identify opportunities to improve controls, efficiency, and scalability.
  • Technical Project Management
  • Manage multiple technical workstreams within broader Groups & Events projects, coordinating activities, dependencies, timelines, risks, and deliverables across technical teams.
  • Coordinate activities across Product, Technology, Integrations, vendors, and other project stakeholders.
  • Maintain project plans and track key milestones, dependencies, risks, issues, decisions, and actions for assigned technical workstreams.
  • Facilitate technical project meetings, drive follow-up actions, and escalate risks or blockers as needed.
  • Coordinate testing, integration, environment, deployment, and other technical readiness activities with the appropriate technical teams.
  • Provide clear status reporting and maintain accurate project documentation for assigned workstreams.
  • Billing Operations and Execution:
  • Execute the end-to-end billing process for assigned Groups & Events products and services.
  • Maintain billing schedules, hotel and product records, fee details, invoicing inputs, and supporting documentation.
  • Validate charges against approved commercial terms, product selections, and applicable fees, and prepare or coordinate billing files and invoice requests.
  • Reconcile billing records across internal systems, vendor records, agreements, and financial reports.
  • Research and resolve billing discrepancies, exceptions, credits, adjustments, and open issues, partnering with Finance or Collections as appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate billing trackers and reporting and respond to billing questions from internal stakeholders and vendors.
  • Maintain complete and traceable billing records to support financial controls, compliance, and audit requests.
  • Process Documentation and Improvement:
  • Document the end-to-end billing process, including key roles, handoffs, systems, controls, exceptions, and escalation paths.
  • Create and maintain the SOPs, process maps, templates, calendars, and job aids needed to operate the billing process consistently.
  • Identify gaps, manual effort, and opportunities to simplify or automate billing activities.
  • Recommend and help implement practical improvements that strengthen billing accuracy, timeliness, and scalability.
  • Measures of Success:
  • Assigned technical workstreams, milestones, dependencies, risks, and actions are actively managed and communicated.
  • Billing activities are completed accurately and within required timelines.
  • Billing discrepancies and exceptions are identified, tracked, and resolved promptly.
  • Billing records and processes are documented, reconciled, and traceable.
  • Practical procedures and process improvements are established to reduce manual effort, ambiguity, and rework.
  • Leadership and stakeholders receive reliable project and billing status reporting.
  • Role Profile:
  • This position is best suited for a highly accountable, detail-oriented professional who is willing to perform the work directly. The individual must be equally effective driving technical project execution, working through detailed billing records, resolving exceptions, and documenting processes so they are clear, controlled, repeatable, and scalable.

Requirements:
  • Experience managing technical workstreams or projects involving multiple teams, systems, dependencies, vendors, and stakeholders.
  • Hands-on experience performing billing, invoicing, financial operations, accounts receivable support, reconciliation, or comparable commercial operations work.
  • Ability to move comfortably between project leadership and detailed operational execution.
  • Ability to work across technical, operational, and financial teams and translate information into clear actions and follow-up.
  • Strong process documentation skills, including development of standard operating procedures, workflows, and job aids.
  • Experience analyzing data, reconciling records, investigating discrepancies, and maintaining audit-ready documentation.
  • Excellent organization, written communication, stakeholder management, and follow-through.
  • Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and bring structure to developing or evolving processes.
  • Strong Excel skills, including lookups, pivot tables, reconciliation, and data validation, along with proficiency in PowerPoint, Word, Teams, and project tracking or work-management tools.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience supporting SaaS, enterprise technology, systems integration, or technology product portfolios.
  • Experience working with Finance, Legal, Technology, vendors, and product teams.
  • Experience establishing a new billing operation or transitioning a manual billing process into a controlled, repeatable model.
  • Hospitality technology, hotel systems, Sales & Catering, Groups & Events, or related industry experience is a plus.
  • Familiarity with vendor invoicing, recurring fees, contract-based billing, dispute management, and financial controls.
