Department: Program Management

Location: Herndon, VA (Hybrid)
Compensation: $125,000–$165,000 annually
About Idea Entity
At Idea Entity, we transform customer pain points into insightful, scalable, agent-powered workflows built with empathy, clarity, and speed. Our work bridges strategy and execution, helping organizations simplify complex processes and make smarter, faster decisions. We take pride in being a partner our clients can trust, delivering meaningful outcomes through innovation, collaboration, and accountability. Every project we take on is driven by the shared goal of creating lasting impact for our customers and their businesses.
Role Summary
We are looking for an experienced, customer-focused Technical Project Manager to lead the execution of technology projects across government and commercial customers. This role serves as a primary point of contact for project execution and works directly with customers, technical teams, and internal stakeholders to translate business needs into successfully delivered solutions.
This is a hands-on delivery role intended for a Project Manager who can operate beyond traditional project administration. The successful candidate will be comfortable working within a small, collaborative delivery pod, working across traditional role boundaries, participating meaningfully in technical discussions and solution decisions, engaging directly with customers, understanding technical and functional requirements, and using AI-enabled tools as an integral part of planning, analysis, communication, problem-solving, and project execution.
We are looking for someone who is technically savvy, understands how software solutions are designed and delivered, and can work effectively with developers, QA, architects, and customers without simply acting as a coordination layer between them.
The position is based in Herndon, Virginia, operates on a hybrid schedule. US Citizenship is required and is not eligible for sponsorship.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Lead multiple concurrent technical projects and workstreams from requirements through implementation, deployment, and customer acceptance.
- Serve as a primary customer-facing point of contact, maintaining strong relationships and ensuring project execution remains aligned with customer expectations and business outcomes.
- Review and analyze business processes, document requirements, define scope and objectives, and translate customer needs into actionable work for technical teams.
- Use AI-enabled tools throughout the delivery lifecycle to support requirements analysis, planning, documentation, risk identification, communication, problem-solving, and project execution.
- Apply an AI-first mindset by continuously identifying opportunities to use AI and automation to improve delivery speed, quality, analysis, and decision-making.
- Coordinate closely with software developers, technical leads, QA, architects, business stakeholders, and customers as part of a small, integrated delivery pod with shared accountability for delivery.
- Participate in technical discussions sufficiently to understand architecture, dependencies, constraints, risks, tradeoffs, and implementation impacts, and help ensure decisions remain aligned with project and customer objectives.
- Develop and maintain project plans, milestones, budgets, schedules, dependencies, risks, deliverables, and completion criteria.
- Monitor project health and performance, resolve issues, manage risks, and provide clear, actionable status reporting to leadership and customer stakeholders.
- Facilitate requirements discussions, solution reviews, demonstrations, and other customer sessions needed to move projects from concept through deployment.
- Apply quality-control practices throughout project delivery to ensure solutions meet agreed requirements, standards, and customer expectations.
- Identify opportunities to improve project processes, delivery speed, quality, and customer outcomes through automation and AI-enabled approaches.
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly reviews and analysis of current processes using operational metrics and reports.
- Manage competing priorities and multiple projects while maintaining accountability for commitments, deadlines, and follow-through.
- Work across role boundaries when needed to help the pod remove blockers, clarify requirements, assess impacts, coordinate validation, and drive issues to resolution rather than limiting ownership to project administration.
- Support customer deployment, adoption, transition, and related implementation activities as required.
- Other ad-hoc tasks based on business needs.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, information technology, computer science, engineering, or a related field.
- Four to seven (4–7) years of experience in technical project management, technology delivery, implementation, or a closely related role.
- Demonstrated experience managing multiple concurrent projects, workstreams, priorities, deadlines, and stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to use modern AI tools as a practical working capability across project and software-delivery activities, not only for general-purpose writing or research.
- Ability to incorporate AI into requirements analysis, planning, documentation, risk identification, communication, problem-solving, and project execution without requiring foundational AI training.
- Sufficient technical understanding of modern software development, APIs, databases, cloud environments, DevOps, testing, and deployment concepts to engage effectively with engineering teams and understand technical risks and tradeoffs.
- Working knowledge of enterprise technology environments, including Microsoft applications, Azure/DevOps, cloud-based solutions, and SaaS/PaaS/IaaS concepts.
- Active Project Management Professional Certification (PMP)
- Active CompTIA Security+ certification or ability to obtain within six (6) months of hire.
- Prior experience supporting Department of War or Government customers.
- Air Force, ACC, aircraft maintenance, maintenance operations, or related mission-domain experience strongly preferred.
- Strong customer-facing, facilitation, written, verbal, and presentation skills, including the ability to build consensus among technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
- Strong interpersonal and facilitation skills; ability to forge consensus among competing constituents on critical and time sensitive issues.
- Ability to organize, lead teams, work effectively within a small multidisciplinary pod, work independently or as member of a team.
- Strong organizational skills with keen sense of attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of iterative software and development methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, or comparable iterative delivery approaches.
- Prior work experience or knowledge in SaaS/PaaS/IaaS projects.
- Experience working closely with software development and QA teams through requirements, design, development, testing, deployment, and production support.
