Description

A New York City-based entertainment & media company is seeking a Technical Project Manager to lead complex technology initiatives across news and broadcast environments. This role will partner with cross-functional stakeholders to drive project delivery, support change management, and measure business impact.

About the Opportunity:

  • Schedule: Monday to Friday
  • Setting: Hybrid (4 days onsite)

Responsibilities:

  • Lead planning, execution, and delivery of technical projects across news, broadcast operations, infrastructure, and digital platforms.
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to define scope, requirements, timelines, budgets, risks, success metrics, and resource needs.
  • Manage project schedules, milestones, dependencies, issues, action items, and supporting documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Provide regular status reporting to leadership, including project health, accomplishments, risks, roadblocks, and overall progress.
  • Drive change management efforts by coordinating communication, training, readiness tracking, adoption support, and post-launch stabilization.

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience managing complex technical projects using Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery methodologies.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience managing projects within live broadcast, news, media, production technology, newsroom systems, or related technology environments.
  • Demonstrated success leading change management, technology modernization, or operational improvement initiatives.
  • Strong project management experience across budgets, resource planning, risk management, dependency tracking, issue resolution, stakeholder communications, and executive-level reporting.
  • Experience working within PMO, Program Management, Portfolio Management, or cross-functional technology delivery environments.
  • Experience establishing, measuring, and reporting on KPIs, business outcomes, and operational improvements.
  • Knowledge of Agile frameworks, governance standards, PI Planning, Program Reviews, Go/No-Go decisions, and project management best practices.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, organizational, relationship management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple complex initiatives simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and execution quality.

Desired Skills:

  • Project or Change Management certifications such as PMP, CAPM, PMI-ACP, CSM, or Prosci Change Management.
  • Experience with Jira, Confluence, Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, PowerPoint, Power BI, or Microsoft Office Suite.
  • News industry experience.
