Job Title: Technical_Project Manager (Senior).
Location: Ashburn, VA.

Description:

  • As the Technical Project Manager, you are the "Single Point of Contact" (SPOC) responsible for the end-to-end governance of a 14-month network transformation project. You will lead a 3-phase migration approach—Data Gathering, Scope Execution, and Client Testing—to transition client connections to new data center locations.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Project Governance: Lead project initiation, including the formal kick-off meeting to set timelines and identify necessary materials. You will maintain the master project schedule and track all deliverables.
  • Milestone Management: Oversee the successful staging and completion of 1,500 routers and 1,500 Cradlepoint devices. You are responsible for ensuring billing milestones are met, including the tracking of device "staged" and "completed" statuses.
  • Technical Coordination: Direct day-to-day activities between Telecommunication engineers, customer's internal teams, and third-party vendors. This includes coordinating the development of the Method of Procedure (MOP) and managing the "Pilot Implementation" phase.
  • Communication & Reporting: Provide weekly project status reports to stakeholders, including resource attendance validation and deployment progress against the MOP.
  • Change & Risk Management: Act as the first point of escalation for project delays. You will manage the formal Change Management process for any work outside the original SOW scope.
  • Logistics Oversight: Coordinate the high-volume staging inventory, ensuring equipment is scanned, labeled, and shipped via customer-provided accounts.
Specific Scope Expertise Required:
To lead this project effectively, you must understand the following technical workstreams:
  • Network Migration: Oversight of VPN migrations (1,500 tunnels), eSolutions NAT space transitions, and firewall rule migrations.
  • Hardware Staging: Managing the assembly of SIM cards, Power Supply Units, and firmware updates for massive device rollouts.
  • Connectivity Solutions: Familiarity with Dual Router/Carrier MPLS, Internet VPN with LTE backup, and Cloud Connectivity (AWS, Azure, Equinix).
