Job Title: Technical Project Manager, Live Ops
Location: Remote (PST hours required)

About the Team

This Live Ops team is responsible for preparing, executing, and monitoring live and pre-recorded events across the company's immersive platforms from courtside experiences and game days to concerts, comedy shows, and other tentpole entertainment moments. The team owns the full event lifecycle: signal contribution and ingest, real-time monitoring and incident response, platform feature validation, and post-event analysis.

About the Role

This role sits at the intersection of broadcast engineering, streaming technology, and platform operations. You'll serve as a key operational and technical resource supporting live and VOD workflows end-to-end from signal path planning and vendor onboarding through real-time monitoring, troubleshooting, and post-event analysis. You'll also work closely with vendor teams to ensure consistent, high-quality execution, and partner cross-functionally with Engineering, Product, Production, and Partnerships to keep events running smoothly and help evolve the platform to support premier content at scale.

What You'll Do

  • Serve as a key point of contact for vendor engagement and event-day technical support
  • Support, train, and enable vendor teams to ensure live and VOD events are monitored and delivered accurately
  • Monitor live broadcasts in real time, triaging and escalating technical issues as they arise
  • Coordinate in real time with production and engineering teams to resolve issues during live events
  • Design and document signal path architectures, applying broadcast standards to validate contribution and distribution pipelines
  • Validate transcoding configurations, metadata integrity, failover procedures, and QA checkpoints across the ingest-to-egress chain
  • Apply deep streaming infrastructure knowledge ingest protocols, encoding pipelines, CDN egress, ABR packaging, playback delivery to optimize configurations and inform platform roadmap decisions
  • Translate operational needs into technical specifications for platform features, including acceptance criteria and rollout considerations
  • Author and maintain platform documentation, operational runbooks, and escalation workflows
  • Manage key projects independently from initiation through completion
  • Own stakeholder communication throughout project lifecycles deliverables, timelines, dependencies, and risks
  • Build and maintain strong cross-functional partnerships to drive alignment and unblock execution
  • Lead vendor evaluation, integration testing, and platform readiness assessments for new broadcast initiatives
  • Design and maintain bespoke AI tooling solutions to streamline operations

What You'll Bring

  • 3+ years of experience in video content operations, broadcast operations, streaming media, or related technical roles in entertainment/media
  • Working knowledge of live broadcast environments switching/routing, signal path design, network monitoring, and troubleshooting
  • Understanding of broadcast contribution and distribution standards (e.g., SMPTE ST 2110/2022, SCTE-35, SEI/KLV metadata, closed captioning)
  • Experience with streaming platform fundamentals ingest protocols (RTMP, SRT, RIST), transcoding/encoding, adaptive bitrate packaging (HLS, DASH), and CDN delivery
  • Demonstrated project management ability across multiple simultaneous priorities
  • Comfort operating in fast-paced, dynamic environments with competing priorities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with ease interfacing across technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience working on large cross-functional teams

Nice to Have

  • Experience with signal path planning tools or workflow visualization (Figma, Excalidraw, Mermaid)
  • Hands-on experience with broadcast control systems, video routers, or IP-based media workflows
  • Familiarity with monitoring/observability platforms for live video
  • Background in operational documentation, SOPs, or runbooks
  • Experience in platform feature scoping, requirements gathering, or product operations
  • Knowledge of cloud-based media processing pipelines
  • Experience at a studio, media company, streaming platform, post-production facility, or live event production environment
  • Familiarity with automation/scripting for operational workflows
  • Understanding of content protection (DRM), watermarking, or access control in live streaming
  • Experience with VR/immersive or next-gen media formats
  • Demonstrated experience developing AI tools
