PRIMARY FUNCTION:
This position is responsible for developing new customers and products within our Connector division, focusing on commercial, industrial, medical, and Hi Rel components for electronic systems. You will work closely with operations, development engineering and customers to identify connector and mechatronic application requirements leading to customer design approvals and new business for Kyocera-AVX (K-AVX). Additionally, you will provide technical capability presentations and demonstrations to OEM customers, 3rd party sales reps and our distribution partners to promote new technology and K-AVX connector products..
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Meet / exceed assigned sales goals and ensure maximum gross margins are achieved.
- Plan and organize personal technical sales strategy by maximizing the return of time investment for the territory/area.
- Tracking, monitoring and communicating the status of project and design activities.
- Develop, continually enhance and solidify long-term customer relationships.
- Provide product training for sales representatives and distribution sales teams.
- Keeping current with the latest electronic components and connector technology.
- Increase market share and search out other venues for market growth and expansion.
- Working with K-AVX account managers, distribution partners and OEM customers to develop solutions.
- Analyzing customer application requirements and working with Development Engineering to determine product and project feasibility.
- Support the development of product and program implementation plans.
- Actively drive product application development activities.
Requirements:
- 4 Year Degree or equivalent work experience required (preferably in a STEM subject)
- Mechanical or Electrical Engineering experience/aptitude required.
- 5 years of experience in technical marketing/sales, preferably of electrical components with a good understanding of plastics, metals and plating materials.
- Excellent communication and relationship building skills at the channel and customer level.
- Strong verbal/written communication, interpersonal skills and the ability to manage by influence
- Ability to work independently while taking direction from Sales Leadership.
- Ability to travel 50%+ of the time within the Americas Region. Infrequent international travel may be required.
- Must be capable of understanding and analyzing designs provided by customers and the channel.
- Must have experience in public speaking and conducting sales presentations.
