POSITION SUMMARY

This is a customer-facing technical sales role. You will be responsible for developing and expanding customer relationships across CTI and CTE territories while serving as a key technical resource for customers and internal teams. The Technical Sales Representative supports both new and existing business by helping customers identify tooling solutions, documenting requirements, reviewing tooling performance, and coordinating communication between the customer and CTI/CTE.

This role is critical to customer growth, technical problem solving, and long-term business development.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Sales and Customer Development

  • Develop and grow a customer base across assigned territories
  • Build relationships with existing customers while identifying opportunities for additional sales growth
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for special order requirements and technical support needs
  • Support cross-division sales opportunities across DFC operations
  • Travel to customer sites for scheduled meetings, sales visits, and product reviews

Technical Support and Product Expertise

  • Act as the key technical liaison between CTI/CTE and the customer
  • Assist customer personnel in understanding tooling features for new products and new customer launches
  • Review tooling performance with internal technical teams and customers
  • Help customers improve their manufacturing processes by recommending effective tooling solutions
  • Become proficient in machine operations associated with new products to better support customer needs

Documentation and Communication

  • Maintain call reports and detailed customer visit documentation
  • Document customer requirements through SOPs and email communication
  • Work closely with internal departments to ensure alignment on customer expectations, product performance, and special requirements
  • Support smooth communication between customers, sales, technical, and operations teams

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Minimum 5 years of industry experience preferred, ideally from the carton production side
  • Strong technical knowledge of tooling, converting, packaging, printing, or related manufacturing processes
  • Ability to create effective technical presentations and respond confidently to customer questions
  • Strong written communication skills and ability to document customer visits thoroughly
  • Working knowledge of database systems, Microsoft Office, and related business software
  • Ability to build credibility with customers and serve as a trusted technical partner
  • Willingness to travel as needed for customer support and sales development

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Regular travel to customer sites and CTI locations as needed
  • Moderate noise environment with periodic exposure to plant floor conditions
  • Frequent standing, walking, and movement during customer visits and plant reviews
  • Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to present, communicate, and engage effectively with customers, managers, and internal teams
