Technical Sales Support Engineer

Job Title: Technical Sales Support Engineer (Mechanical Bias)  Location: Office based role in Milton Keynes Hours: 37.5 hours a week, 08:30~16:45, Monday to Thursday and 08:30~15:30, Friday  Job Type: Permanent, full time The Role:SMC are looking to recruit an individual to provide support to customers and the sales force team for technical matters. Technical support will cover many SMC products, specialising in pneumatic automation and thermo temperature control. Commercial and market awareness of the SMC product. Supporting sales growth by training and proactive promotion of existing and new products.​Key Responsibilities:Support for customer questions via phone and e-mailProcess requests for special products and variationsAnalyse, check and report writing on customer product returnsNew product development proposal activityMarket and competitor product analysis & understanding Supporting sales force with customer visits and application developmentProduct management including training, new product introduction and supersession of discontinued product ranges​Essential Education, Skills and Experience:  Degree, HNC or HND in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline  Able to communicate proficiently via telephone and email with both internal and external customersA methodical problem solver who is logical, organised and able to keep clear comprehensive records     Ability to clearly and effectively present technical subjects, face-to-face and via webinarExperience working within an Engineering environmentHands-on testing and diagnostic experienceExperience handling multiple projects with ability to prioritise, manage own time, and meet deadlines ​Desirable Experience:Hands-on testing and diagnostic experience​Automation systems or system design experiencePrevious experience or working within a Technical Sales Support or applications role​What We Offer: The reason for our success is our people.
