Basic Job Functions:
The role of the Technical Services Metallurgical Lab Technician includes, but is not limited to the following:
Praticipating in safety and housekeeping efforts
Ensure a safe work environment for themselves and their coworkers
Operatre and maintain laboratory equipment, such as Tensile Test Frames, Hardness Test Equipment, Profilometer, Mouting/Polishing Equipment, Micrometers, etc.
Accurately and legibly, complete required paperwork of test results
Accurately input data into NSAR business system
Communication closley with Metallurgy Team
This position will be rotation shifts on days
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Minimum of 2 years of experience in steel industry
Preferred Qualifications:
Understanding of the steelmaking process
Minimum of 2 years' experience in quality control in an industrial setting
Experience with chemical analysis and physical testing of steel products
