Title: Technical Services Lead Supervisor 
Rate: $90k - $110k/base + target bonus
Location: Remote w/ travel 


Position Summary: 
The Technical Services Lead Supervisor is a field-based operator responsible for overseeing installation and de-installation projects across central offices, data centers, and similar environments. This role owns execution from planning through completion, including team leadership, quality control, cost management, and adherence to industry standards. The position requires extensive travel and direct involvement in physically demanding job sites.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Lead end-to-end execution of installation and de-installation projects across multiple customer environments
  • Conduct site surveys and define scope, removal requirements, and operational constraints
  • Develop detailed Method of Procedure (MOP) documentation aligned to site, power, and traffic conditions
  • Manage field technicians, including staffing, training, daily direction, and performance oversight
  • Run daily job briefings to align teams on scope, sequencing, and execution standards
  • Ensure all work complies with customer requirements and industry standards, including Telcordia GR1275
  • Oversee technical activities including:
    • Power-down of switches
    • Cable disconnection and removal
    • Equipment extraction (Nortel, Client, Alcatel, Tellabs, etc.)
    • Cable mining and rack removal
    • Battery, HVAC, and generator removal
    • Site restoration to pre-existing condition where required
  • Ensure proper handling, labeling, and loading of equipment to preserve resale value and prevent loss or theft
  • Coordinate logistics, transportation, and recycling processes to optimize cost and efficiency
  • Estimate labor, materials, and timelines for each project and support final job costing
  • Partner with internal logistics and recycling teams to improve recovery value and operational efficiency
  • Monitor and control travel-related costs across projects
  • Maintain accurate project tracking, documentation, and internal system updates
  • Build scalable field teams capable of executing projects without direct on-site supervision
Position Specifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Engineering, or related field preferred
  • Minimum 10 years of telecommunications network operations experience with progressive responsibility
  • Prior field experience leading technical installation and de-installation projects
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent projects
  • Hands-on experience with central office telecommunications equipment (Nortel, Client, Alcatel, Tellabs, etc.)
  • Strong technical capability across:
    • DC power systems (rectifiers, battery strings, inverter bays)
    • Physical plant work (cabling, lacing, terminating, splicing)
    • Installation of telecom hardware (routers, switches, multiplexors, cable trays, alarm systems)
    • Structural components (ironwork, ladder racks)
    • System integration and configuration
  • Strong operational discipline around safety, quality, and execution standards
  • Willingness to travel extensively (up to ~80%) and work on-site for extended project durations
