Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or other technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

• 2 years of experience in a professional setting with software development languages (e.g., Java, Kotlin, Python, C/C++).

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience launching IoT and smart home platforms.
• Experience working with suppliers, clients or partners on debugging and troubleshooting technical issues.
• Experience working with SoC partners to bring up devices and assure platform quality.
• Experience developing developer tools (e.g., automation, testing, debugging).
• Experience with AI/LLM, including integrating these technologies into development workflows or customer solutions.
• Ability to travel up to 20% (International and Domestic) in order to provide face-to-face support and troubleshooting at partner locations.

About the job

The Health and Home Partner Engineering is a team dedicated to streamlining the integration of third-party products into the Google ecosystem as well as Google SDKs to third-party devices. We collaborate closely with key partners, guiding them on effective implementation strategies, API usage, code best practices, and platform-specific optimization for a seamless integration into the Google ecosystem. We provide specialized engineering support to ensure the optimal functioning of third-party products within Googles Health and Home platforms. This involves in-depth knowledge of platform-specific SDKs, APIs, and developer tools. We advocate for developers and their needs. We work with other teams at Google to ensure that developers have the resources they need to succeed. We reach out to developers to build relationships and promote Google Health and Home products. We do this through a variety of channels, including hosting events, speaking at conferences, and more.

The Google Home team focuses on hardware, software and services offerings for the home, ranging from thermostats to smart displays. The Home team

researches, designs, and develops new technologies and hardware to make

users' homes more helpful. Our mission is the helpful home: to create a

home that cares for the people inside it and the world around it.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $130000 - $187000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits

Responsibilities

• Understand partner use cases and offer insights and recommendations on solution design, development, tooling and integration.
• Build samples, codelabs and documentation to support partners integrations with Google Home devices or platforms.
• Partner closely with the Software Engineering team to communicate technical feedback from partners, resolve bugs and/or integration problems. Resolve escalations of technical issues from Technical Account Managers.
• Speak at developer events and partner summits.
