Your role and responsibilities

What is an Apprenticeship?

The IBM Apprenticeship Program is a U.S. Department of Labor Registered Apprenticeship that combines structured learning with hands-on work experience. The program lasts up to 12 months and is designed to help participants build technical and professional skills while earning a nationally recognized credential.

Throughout the apprenticeship, you will follow a learning roadmap and gain practical experience working with teams that support technology solutions, client environments, cloud technologies, and business operations.

What You'll Do

As a Technical Specialist Apprentice, you will:

• Learn core technology concepts and best practices.
• Support teams delivering technology solutions for Federal clients.
• Assist with troubleshooting, problem-solving, and issue resolution.
• Gain exposure to cloud technologies, infrastructure, cybersecurity, automation, and emerging technologies.
• Learn how technology supports business operations and client missions.
• Participate in project work and team collaboration activities.
• Build professional skills including communication, teamwork, and customer service.
• Work with mentors and experienced professionals to develop technical and career skills.

Apprenticeship Experience

As an apprentice, you will join a cohort of fellow learners and participate in onboarding, technical training, mentorship, and real-world project experiences.

Candidates must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Federal security clearance while in IBM Consulting-Federal.

The compensation range and benefits for this position are based on a full-time schedule for a full calendar year. The salary will vary depending on your job-related skills, experience and location. For part time roles, your compensation and benefits will be adjusted to reflect your hours. Benefits may be pro-rated for those who start working during the calendar year.
