Description

Technical Specialist, Data EngineeringCharlotte, NC (Hybrid)

Join a growing engineering team building a modern, cloud-based data platform from the ground up. This is an opportunity to help shape the future of enterprise data architecture by designing scalable, high-performance data solutions using open-source technologies while collaborating with experienced technical leaders.

In this role, you'll own the end-to-end data pipeline, moving data from OLTP (transactional) systems into OLAP (analytical) environments. You'll design data models, implement Change Data Capture (CDC) solutions, build robust ETL/data transformation pipelines, and develop a scalable analytics platform using Apache Iceberg, Debezium, Apache Kafka, Apache Flink, and AWS.

We're seeking an engineer with hands-on production experience designing and supporting enterprise data platforms—not candidates whose experience is limited to personal or side projects. The ideal candidate has strong expertise in OLTP-to-OLAP data movement, Apache Iceberg, CDC, data modeling, and AWS, with the ability to work across the entire solution—from infrastructure through the data layer.

Experience with Databricks, PostgreSQL, Python, PySpark, or the financial services industry is a plus but not required.

This role is perfect for someone who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, influencing architecture, and building solutions that make a lasting impact. Although this is an individual contributor position, there is a clear path to technical leadership for candidates who demonstrate exceptional technical ability, initiative, and leadership potential.
