Technical Support Tech

Our client, a top Fortune company, is looking to hire a Technical Support Tech in Herndon, VA (Onsite). 

Pay Rate Range: $28/h - $35/h on W2 depending on experience

Contract: 5 months, with strong possibility of extension/ conversion

Responsibilities
Provides support to end users on a variety of issues. Identifies, researches, and resolves technical problems. Responds to telephone calls, email and personnel requests for technical support. Documents, tracks and monitors the problem to ensure a timely resolution. May require an associate's degree in a related area and 3-6 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under immediate supervision. Primary job functions do not typically require exercising independent judgment. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager.
Basic qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience supporting Windows, Mac and/or Linux Operating systems in a corporate setting
• High school or equivalent diploma
• Associate in Computer Science or related field or experience equivalent.
• 2+ years of experience in helpdesk or desk-side environment
• Experience in Windows, Mac OS environments
• Strong verbal skills proven ability to communicate with technical and non-technical staff
• Ability to work both independently and within a team environment
• Display a commitment to quality and strong multi-tasking skills

Preferred qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer science or IT related field
• Microsoft MCSE, MCITP Systems Administrator (Active Directory)
• Bachelor's degree in Computer science or IT related field
• Advanced Linux systems administration skills
• Strong troubleshooting skills of very complex systems
• Ability to explain complex IT concepts in simple terms
• ITIL Foundation Certification
