Technical Support Tech - Technical Support Tech II

Location: Seattle, Washington (Onsite)

Role Overview

This position is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of UAS systems. The ideal candidate operates at the intersection of mechanical and software disciplines. Responsibilities include the timely resolution of issues affecting hardware, software, and user permissions, as well as routine hardware maintenance. The qualified candidate will bring a strong combination of hands-on mechanical aptitude and software proficiency to diagnose and resolve issues across the full system stack.


Key Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot UAS hardware and software systems.
  • Perform routine maintenance and service of remote-controlled devices.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues across the full system stack, including physical assemblies and embedded software.
  • Resolve hardware, software, and user permission issues in a timely manner.
  • Perform precision assembly and integration work using hand tools, drawings, and CAD files.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams while working independently.

Required Qualifications

Experience: 2 years of experience troubleshooting hardware and software issues in an industry or military setting. Demonstrated experience working across both mechanical/electrical systems and software environments is required. Candidates must be comfortable moving between a workbench and a command line. Mechanical and electrical integration or assembly experience is necessary, as is experience with the installation of sub-assemblies and assemblies while working from drawings or CAD files. Must be able to perform precision work with hand tools.

Technical Skills: Proficiency with basic computer concepts, PC hardware and software troubleshooting, and workstation hardware is required. A working knowledge of at least one operating system (Windows, Linux/UNIX, or macOS) and a basic understanding of networks, including Ethernet, TCP/IP, and Windows Server networking, are necessary.

Additional Requirements: Employees must, with or without reasonable accommodation, be able to lift up to 50 pounds on some occasions, stand/walk for up to 8–10 hours (with breaks), and be able to frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach. A valid Driver's License is required. Willingness to travel up to 75% of the year is also a requirement.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with scripting languages (Python preferred) to support hardware diagnostics, automation, or data collection.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office and Linux in a technical/maintenance environment.
  • Experience creating CAD files based on loose specifications.
  • Familiarity with embedded systems, firmware, or hardware-software integration points.
  • Experience in aerospace, robotics, or UAS operations.
  • Experience supporting Windows and/or Linux/UNIX systems.
  • Microsoft MCSA/MCSE, Apple ACMT/ACSP, or Cisco CCNA certifications.
  • BS Degree in computer science, mechanical engineering, mechatronics, or a combination of education and relevant experience.
  • 3–6 years of relevant work experience.

Compensation & Benefits

The pay rate for this position is between $22.00 and $29.00 per hour. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and experience. A benefits package may be available to eligible employees.
