This position reports to the Managing Director of the WAWM RCS Youth Theater Program.
- Designs sets, lights, or sound or serves as Stage Management Advisor for 2 shows per season or Directs 1 show per season (production contract amounts are included in annual contract).
- Provides or coordinates educational opportunities, workshops, coaching, etc. for students participating on crew for theater productions, including but not limited to; Stage Management, Set Construction, Set Design, Scenic Painting, Light Design, Sound Design, etc.
- Supervise set builds as needed.Collaborate with school administrators, music and theater staff on repair budgets and capital requests. (Performance spaces: Frank Lloyd Wright Intermediate School, James E. Dottke High School, Nathan Hale High School, West Allis Central High School, West Milwaukee Intermediate School).
- Manages use of district sound and lighting equipment, including wireless mics.
- Coordinates purchase of sound and lighting equipment as approved by the Managing Director.
- Develops and enforces basic technical safety procedures in collaboration with the Managing Director.
- Trains staff on appropriate usage of equipment as needed.
- Assist in providing light and sound support for Recreation and Community Services Department Fine Arts groups (for additional hourly pay).
- Coordinate any electrical repairs with the District Electrician or Custodial Staff where required.
- Other duties as assigned
Additional Requirements:
- Possess a working knowledge of ETC & Strand CD80SV lighting/dimming systems.
- Possess a working knowledge of Shure Wireless systems, Allen & Heath mixers, and Q-SYS audio software.Possess a working knowledge of AutoCAD,Vectorworks or similar drafting software.
- Possess a working knowledge of scenic construction & painting
Education/ Work Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree (BA or BFA) or equivalent professional experience in Technical Theater preferred
