POSITION TITLE: Technical Trainer
POSITION OBJECTIVE:
The Technical Trainer is responsible for delivering product, technology, and industry-related training programs to customers, partners, and internal employees. This role supports the development and maintenance of training curriculum, instructional materials, and technical documentation related to fiber optic products, applications, and installation practices. The position also supports customer implementation activities, including first-time installations and field training, while ensuring training content remains current with industry standards and organizational objectives.
This position requires frequent travel and collaboration across multiple departments including Applications Engineering, Product Management, Sales, Operations, and Customer Support.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Training Delivery and Instruction
Deliver instructor-led and hands-on training programs covering product applications, installation methods, fiber optic technologies, and related industry practices.
Curriculum and Content Development
Assist in developing customer-specific training programs and instructional content.
Industry Knowledge and Continuous Improvement
Maintain current knowledge of industry trends, emerging technologies, supplier developments, standards, and best practices within the communications and fiber optic industries.
Customer Field Support and Installation Training
Support customer implementations through first-time installation activities and field-based instruction.
Equipment and Safety Responsibilities
Perform routine inspection and preventative maintenance activities for training equipment, tools, demonstration systems, and related materials.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelors degree in engineering, Telecommunications, Information Technology, Education, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
Minimum of five (5) years of experience within the communications, telecommunications, fiber optics, or related technical industry.
Demonstrated experience in technical training, instructional delivery, curriculum development, or workforce education preferred.
Relevant industry certifications preferred, including but not limited to:
Fiber Optic Association (FOA)
Electronics Technicians Association (ETA)
BICSI certifications
Other industry-recognized credentials
Strong presentation, facilitation, and instructional delivery skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite applications
Demonstrated technical writing and documentation skills.
Ability to develop instructional materials and communicate technical concepts to varied audiences.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and shifting priorities.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with a proven ability to communicate effectively across diverse audiences
Ability to adapt quickly and maintain productivity in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with evolving business needs
Travel domestically and internationally, approximately 70% of the time
BENEFITS for full time:
SHIFT: Monday-Friday, Business hours: (6am-6pm)- Shift hours (6am-2pm), possible weekends and overtime
SALARY RANGE: $ 73,299-$91,624-$109,949) annual: Bonus Eligible
