Technical Trainer (Power Systems)

Our client, a leader in power systems and electrical engineering solutions, is seeking a Technical Trainer (Power Systems) to join their team. As a Technical Trainer, you will be part of the Training/Enablement Department supporting Engineering, Product, and Customer teams. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, adaptability, and strong facilitation abilities which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Technical Trainer (Power Systems)

Location: Plymouth, MN

Pay Range: 41.28/hr.

What’s the Job?

• Deliver virtual training sessions for CYME software, covering foundational and advanced functionality
• Facilitate hands-on exercises, labs, and real-world scenarios related to electrical distribution and transmission systems
• Translate complex electrical engineering and power system concepts (e.g., kW, kWh, load flow, protection) into clear, learner-friendly instruction
• Develop, maintain, and update training materials including presentations, lab guides, and exercises
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and gather learner feedback to continuously improve training effectiveness

What’s Needed?

• Bachelor’s Degree required; Engineering degree preferred OR degree with strong background in training, instructional design, or adult learning
• Experience in customer enablement, training delivery, or similar roles
• Background in utilities, power systems, or electrical engineering environments (transmission/distribution)
• Strong presentation and facilitation skills with the ability to teach technical concepts to diverse audiences
• Knowledge of electrical power concepts (e.g., kW, kWh, transmission)
