Johnson Service Group is seeking a Technical Writer.
This position will function as a Business Systems Analyst with a strong focus on technical writing and end-user documentation in support of the newly integrated Maximo system. The role will partner closely with technical teams and business stakeholders to translate system functionality, workflows, and processes into clear, user-friendly documentation.
At an entry level, this position serves as a liaison between technical staff and end-users to support system adoption and effective use of Maximo. The primary responsibility is the creation and maintenance of user manuals, job aids, process documentation, and training materials to support business operations.

Key Responsibilities:
Develop, write, and maintain user manuals, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and job aids for the Maximo system
Translate technical system functionality into clear, concise documentation for non-technical users
Partner with business to gather requirements and understand workflows for documentation development
Document business processes and system workflows, including step-by-step user instructions and process maps
Support system implementation efforts by creating training materials and end-user guides
Assist in user acceptance testing (UAT) by documenting test cases, results, and system behavior
Update documentation to reflect system enhancements, upgrades, and process changes
Ensure all documentation aligns with standardized formats and documentation best practices
Provide support to end-users by clarifying documentation and assisting with system-related questions
Maintain a centralized repository of system documentation for ongoing access and updates

Minimum Qualifications
Four or more years of experience in business systems analysis, technical writing, or documentation development
Experience creating user manuals, training materials, or process documentation for enterprise systems
A degree in business, computer science, information systems, communications, or related field may substitute for required experience per guidelines
Experience with Maximo
Candidates must have independent, unrestricted authorization to work in the United States

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience supporting system implementations or upgrades
Familiarity with technical documentation tools (e.g., SharePoint, Confluence, or similar platforms)

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Strong ability to translate technical concepts into user-friendly documentation
Knowledge of business process mapping and documentation standards
Understanding of ERP or Work Management systems (Maximo required)
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to organize and present information clearly for non-technical audiences

Skill in gathering information from multiple stakeholders and synthesizing into structured documentation
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

Work Environment & Physical Demands:
Hybrid but willing to consider remote.
Regular use of computer, keyboard, and standard office tools
Key Shift from Generic JD:
Primary focus = Technical Writing + User Manuals (not pure BSA requirements gathering)
System focus = Maximo
Deliverables = Documentation, SOPs, Training Materials, Job Aids
