Job Title: Technical Trainer – Consultant (Technical Writer)
Location: Seneca, SC 29678 100% Remote
Duration: 12 Months

Role Summary: The Technical Writer will work closely with Project Directors/Project Managers, Technical Directors/Developers, Business Analysts, and SMEs to create business and technical project documentation.
Deliverables may be used by the project team, executive management, agency staff, vendors, CMS, and other stakeholders.
The successful candidate should be highly organized, able to work independently, manage multiple deadlines, and quickly learn new technologies and project processes.

Essential Responsibilities
- Work alongside Business Analysts/SMEs and technical staff to understand project goals and objectives and assist with project deliverables and supporting documentation.
- Provide recommendations regarding documentation and deliverables resulting from analysis and design discussions.
- Work with technical teams to make complex information and deliverables easy to understand.
- Organize and write supporting project documentation.
- Select photographs, drawings, diagrams, charts, and other visual aids that improve user understanding.
- Revise documentation as requirements or project issues change.
- Assist with organizing and maintaining the project's SharePoint site and other document repositories.
- 5+ years of related experience in IT, including experience in a position requiring development of structured written materials and visual aids.
- 3+ years of technical writing experience.
- Ability to write, edit, and prepare graphic presentations of technical information for both technical and business personnel.
- 3+ years of experience with MS SharePoint application.
- Advanced experience with Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio, including working with templates and style guidelines for branding consistency.
- Completed Bachelor's degree.
- Experience writing Advanced Planning Documents (APDs) and/or Requests for Proposals (RFPs).
- Understanding of LEAN / Agile development style.
- Experience with BizAgi.
- Experience working in a government environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work with technical teams, business users, management, vendors, and agency departments.
- Ability to organize complex technical information for different audiences.
- Ability to collaborate and coordinate with multiple teams and vendors.
- Ability to work independently as well as within a team.
- Strong multitasking and prioritization skills.
- Excellent attention to detail while maintaining an understanding of the larger project objectives.
- Ability to absorb and retain complex processes.
- Strong English language, grammar, and usage skills.
- Ability to adapt to changes and constructive feedback in a fast-turnaround environment.
