Job Title: Technical Writer

Location: Foster City, CA (Hybrid)

Duration: 3 Months Contract

Pay Rate: $44.00/hour

Job Description

We are seeking a Technical Writer to join our Visa Secure Global Product Team on a 3-month contract basis. This hybrid role, based in Foster City, CA, is responsible for creating and maintaining high-quality technical documentation that supports both internal stakeholders and external clients. The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator with experience translating complex technical concepts into clear, user-friendly content.

Key Responsibilities

• Create, edit, and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including:

• Implementation Guides

• Technical Reference Documents

• Program Guides

• Best Practices

• FAQs and Supporting Materials

• Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Engineers, and cross-functional stakeholders to accurately document product features, technical requirements, and integration processes.

• Ensure documentation is clear, accurate, consistent, and aligned with established style and quality standards.

• Manage the end-to-end documentation lifecycle, including content intake, review cycles, approvals, publication, and maintenance.

• Prioritize and track documentation requests through JIRA and coordinate review meetings with global product teams.

• Maintain documentation inventories, version control, publication schedules, and status reports.

• Build and manage capacity planning workbooks to track deliverables, deadlines, and service-level agreements.

• Utilize AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, and other generative AI technologies for content drafting, editing, quality reviews, and process improvement.

• Drive accountability among stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of content and documentation updates.

Required Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in Technical Writing.
• Experience creating client-facing technical documentation for software, technology, or enterprise products.
• Strong writing, editing, proofreading, and content organization skills.
• Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear and concise documentation.
• Experience collaborating with Product, Engineering, and cross-functional teams.
• Excellent project management, communication, and organizational skills.
• Familiarity with JIRA, Confluence, or similar documentation and project management tools.
• Experience using AI tools for content creation, editing, or workflow automation.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience within the payments, fintech, banking, or financial services industry.
• Knowledge of AI prompt engineering and content optimization techniques.
• Experience creating developer documentation, API documentation, or implementation guides.
• Creative writing experience for product overviews, feature descriptions, and customer-facing communications.

The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented Technical Writer who can independently manage documentation projects while partnering effectively with product and engineering teams. They are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities, and leveraging AI-driven tools to improve documentation quality and efficiency.
