Role Overview

The Technical Writer is responsible for the design, development and ongoing maintenance of procedural documents and standard document templates for Enterprise Operations. This role is responsible for a highly functional web-based repository in which associates can easily locate procedural documents and reference information. The Technical Writer is responsible for collaborating with the appropriate departments to ensure all documents are accurate and in compliance.

Work Arrangement

  • This is a 100% remote position

Responsibilities:

  • Works with internal teams to obtain an in-depth understanding of the function and/or system and the documentation requirements. ·

  • Explains technical processes in simple, clear, and concise language.

  • Ensures accuracy, clarity, appropriateness, and consistency of documentation.

  • Analyzes existing and potential content, focusing on reuse and single-sourcing opportunities.

  • Translates the business needs into an engaging and functional intranet site through proactive content management.

  • Produces high-quality documentation that meets applicable standards and is appropriate for its intended audience.

  • Identifies inconsistencies and adjusts accordingly.

  • Willingness to accept constructive editorial changes and adopt them in future projects.

  • Firm understanding of document control. · Trains supporting contributors on how to request content and document updates.

  • Identifies effective keywords and references within the documentation and page design to ensure content is searchable and easy to access.

  • Desire and aptitude to learn new publishing applications and to keep abreast of changing industry standards.

  • Assesses the need for new or revised content in support of change management resulting from new projects or process/technology changes.

  • Participates in business meetings to support changes to business rules.

  • Maintains the information architecture and overall documentation design standard.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree.

  • 3 to 5 years Technical Writing, Policy and Procedure Development.

Other Skills:

  • Proficient working knowledge of SharePoint, MS word, MS Excel and Outlook.

  • Excellent command of English language, both written and verbal, including grammar, punctuation, spelling.

  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills required.

  • Capacities to design, develop, and implement projects to address operational, quality, and service improvements.

  • Aptitude to analyze existing workflows, processes, supporting systems and procedures and identify improvements.

  • Ability to provide problem resolution in a fast paced environment.

  • Design, modify, develop, and support development of high-quality templates, reports and other written materials.

  • Superior attention to detail · Experience in RoboHelp or other Help authoring software.

  • Experience applying Information Mapping concepts and techniques.

  • Familiar with HTML and CSS language.
