Job Title: Technical WriterJob Description This role focuses on creating, editing, and maintaining high-quality technical documentation that supports batch records and regulatory submissions for a manufacturing group. The Technical Writer ensures that all documents comply with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) requirements, and that they clearly and accurately describe manufacturing processes, work instructions, and procedures for use in FDA submission packages and internal operations. Responsibilities + Develop, write, and edit batch records and related manufacturing documentation in alignment with GMP and GLP standards. + Prepare, format, and maintain FDA submission documents that clearly describe manufacturing processes and procedures. + Create and update work instructions and technical documentation to support manufacturing activities and process consistency. + Perform word processing and editing of batch records to ensure accuracy, clarity, and completeness. + Apply document control practices to manage document versions, approvals, and distribution. + Review existing documents for compliance with regulatory and internal quality requirements, and revise them as needed. + Collaborate with manufacturing and quality teams to gather technical information and translate it into clear written documentation. + Ensure consistency of terminology, style, and formatting across all technical documents. + Maintain organized documentation files and records for easy retrieval and audit readiness. Essential Skills + Proven technical writing experience, particularly in manufacturing or regulated environments. + Hands-on experience with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) and GLP (Good Laboratory Practice) documentation. + Demonstrated experience writing and editing batch records and manufacturing documentation. + Experience preparing or supporting documents for FDA or other regulatory submissions. + Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with excellent attention to detail. + Experience with document control processes, including version control and approvals. + Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, including word processing and document formatting. + Ability to translate complex technical information into clear, concise, and user-friendly documentation. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience creating and maintaining work instructions and standard operating procedures. + Familiarity with quality systems and documentation practices in a manufacturing environment. + Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams in manufacturing and quality. + Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple documents and deadlines simultaneously. Work Environment This role operates in a regulated manufacturing environment where documentation quality and compliance are critical. The Technical Writer works closely with manufacturing and quality teams and spends significant time using Microsoft Office tools for word processing, editing, and document formatting. The position involves working with established document control systems, adhering to formal procedures, and supporting audit-ready documentation at all times. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Seattle, WA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr.
