Responsibilities
Develop, maintain, and improve technical documentation including:
Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Operational Runbooks
Knowledge Base Articles
Quick Reference Guides
Technical Procedures
Support documentation efforts for:
IT Help Desk and End-User Support
Data Center Operations
Data Networking Operations
Partner with subject matter experts, technical teams, and service owners to gather and validate information.
Translate complex technical information into clear, user-focused documentation.
Review and update existing documentation for accuracy, consistency, and completeness.
Organize content in a logical, searchable format to improve knowledge sharing and operational continuity.
Establish and maintain documentation standards, templates, naming conventions, and quality controls.
Manage documentation lifecycle activities including version control, reviews, approvals, and retirement of outdated content.
Ensure documentation is accessible and appropriate for both technical and non-technical audiences.
Qualifications
Senior-level Technical Writer experience supporting IT operations, infrastructure, networking, help desk, data center, or service management environments.
Experience creating SOPs, runbooks, technical procedures, and knowledge base documentation.
Strong ability to interview SMEs and convert technical information into easy-to-understand documentation.
Experience with documentation platforms, collaboration tools, and knowledge management systems.
Familiarity with IT service management concepts, ticketing systems, operational support processes, and documentation governance.
Excellent communication, editing, listening, and organizational skills.
Ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Higher education experience is a plus.
