Position Summary
The Columbia Center for Translational Immunology (CCTI) is seeking a Technician A to support the laboratory operations of two large research centers within the Department of Medicine at Columbia University Irving Medical Center. The Technician A will work as a member of the Operations Team and provide routine support for laboratory operations, shared supplies, equipment, facilities coordination, inventory management, and other activities necessary to maintain an efficient research environment.
Under supervision, the Technician A will assist with maintaining shared laboratory resources, supporting laboratory personnel, coordinating routine operational activities, and performing technical and administrative tasks as assigned. The individual may provide coverage for laboratory support needs across the centers as operational demands arise. This position is well-suited for candidates interested in pursuing a career in laboratory operations, research support, or laboratory management.
Responsibilities
Minimum Qualifications
Two years of college or a completed A.A. program with an emphasis in chemistry, biology or physics or a completed animal husbandry program.
One year of related experience, or equivalent in education, training and experience.

The candidate selected for this position is required to undergo a drug screening test prior to a final offer of employment being made.
Medical clearance and participation in the medical surveillance program
Potential bloodborne pathogen exposure
Successful completion of applicable compliance and systems training requirements.
