What if your electrical expertise powered the testing systems that engineers rely on every day?

What if no two days looked the same—and your troubleshooting skills truly mattered?

What if your next role puts you hands-on with large-scale, high-performance systems most technicians never get to touch?

Stress Engineering is where complex challenges meet hands-on innovation. The company operates at the intersection of precision and real-world performance, tackling environments defined by high pressures, heavy loads, and one-of-a-kind testing systems. Every test in the lab supports critical decisions around safety, reliability, and performance—and that work depends on custom-built equipment that must operate flawlessly. Stress Engineering thrives on solving problems that don’t have off-the-shelf answers, creating an exciting, fast-paced environment where technical curiosity and adaptability are essential.

Power the Systems Behind Groundbreaking Engineering

SES is also a leader in both standardized and custom full-scale testing, including force, displacement, fatigue, temperature, pressure, torque, noise, and vibration. Our industrial test laboratories—located in Northwest Houston and Waller, Texas—house some of the most advanced testing capabilities in the industry, including test frames capable of up to 18 million pounds of force, pressure systems up to 60,000 psi, and equipment designed to simulate extreme environments and conditions.

Why This Role Matters

As an Electrical Maintenance Technician, you’ll be a critical part of our industrial testing operations. The work you do keeps complex test systems running safely, accurately, and efficiently—directly enabling our engineers to validate, innovate, and push performance boundaries. When the equipment works flawlessly, the business moves faster. And you make that happen.

This isn’t routine maintenance. This is high-impact, hands-on technical work in a demanding test environment where your skills are valued and visible.

A Day in the Life

No two days are exactly alike, but here’s what you can expect:

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and instrumentation issues across a variety of industrial test lab systems
  • Install, maintain, and repair low-voltage instrumentation panels and work hands-on with medium-voltage (480V) industrial panels
  • Read and interpret schematics, technical drawings, and specifications to solve complex problems
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance, documenting work to keep systems reliable and compliant
  • Partner closely with SES engineers, collaborating to keep testing on track
  • Work in a safety-first environment, following strict standards to protect people, equipment, and facilities

What’s In It for You

  • Unique equipment & systems you won’t find in typical maintenance roles
  • A hands-on technical role where your expertise is trusted and relied upon
  • Exposure to large-scale, high-performance testing environments
  • Opportunities to sharpen your electrical and mechanical skills every day
  • A role where your work has direct, visible impact on engineering and business outcomes
  • Overtime opportunities for those who want them

What You Bring

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in industrial electrical or maintenance environments (relevant education or technical training may be considered in lieu of experience)
  • Strong understanding of electrical theory, troubleshooting techniques, and the National Electrical Code (NEC)
  • Solid mechanical aptitude with experience troubleshooting basic electronic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety and experience working under strict safety regulations
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Proficiency with PCs and standard software, including Microsoft Office
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions while working safely in a fast-paced setting
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Willingness to work overtime, including occasional evenings, weekends, or night shifts
  • Valid driver’s license (occasional driving may be required)
