Job Description

We are seeking a Technician: Engineering Laboratory - II to join our team on-site in CH5. The candidate will conduct failure analysis to identify electrical and thermo-mechanical package failures and support root-cause understanding of new package technologies being developed.

Responsibilities:

• Perform failure analysis on electronic packages and printed circuit boards.
• Execute X-section and planar polishing to prepare samples for analysis.
• Capture and evaluate optical microscopy images to document defects and features.
• Operate SEM/EDX to characterize materials and identify failure mechanisms.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to support root-cause analysis for new package technologies.
• Document findings with clear technical reports and present results as needed.
• Maintain organization, meet deadlines, and deliver under pressure in a team environment.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Hands-on experience with X-section and planar polishing of electronic packages/PCBs.
• Proficiency in optical microscopy imaging and SEM/EDX analysis on printed circuit boards.
• Knowledge of packaging material properties and behavior.
• Strong verbal communication and technical writing skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively and remain organized under deadlines.
• Ability to stand and work for at least 6 hours.
• Education: AS degree in science or engineering.
• Experience: 2-4 years in failure analysis, materials analysis, process development, or analytical tool development.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience supporting root-cause investigations on advanced packaging technologies.
• Familiarity with lab safety practices and sample preparation workflows.
