THE ROLE:

Herbalife at Lake Forest has been recognized by the OC Register for our exceptional workplace culture, and we're looking for a dedicated Technician I, Quality Control - 1st Shift to help us maintain our world-class standards.The Quality Control Technician is responsible for the sampling of raw materials, in-process materials and reserve sample arrangements as well as related documentation and other tasks as assigned by management. The technician is responsible for working independently on assigned tasks and in a team environment under direct supervision. The person in this role will also be working around ingredients such as powder, milk, soy, & gluten.

HOW YOU WOULD CONTRIBUTE:

  • Sampling of components – raw materials and timely completion of related documentation
  • Assist management with approval or rejection of components
  • Review of documentation – test results for components to assure material meets specifications
  • Ensure adherence with GMPs and SOPs; responsibilities include, performing sampling, inspection and documentation review activities as required
  • Determine disposition of components and release or reject as appropriate
  • Reserve sample arrangement and timely completion of related documentation
  • Assist management in conducting formal procedural inquiries and investigations to determine the cause of quality problems, recommend verbal and/or written corrective action to management as required 
  • Interact effectively with co-workers, management, and vendors in order to resolve problems
  • Assist management with development of departmental goals and objectives
  • Operates a stand up reach forklift to transport materials in a warehouse environment.

SKILLS AND BACKGROUND REQUIRED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

 

Skills:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in written English
  • Computer literacy, with solid PC and software experience
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 30lbs
  • Strong ability to work independently and as a team member under the pressure of manufacturing

Experience:

  • Knowledge of basic GMP and QA/QC for the food, pharmaceutical or medical device industry

Education:

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:  

  • Previous knowledge and understanding of Quality compliance
  • Previous experience working in a Dietary Supplements manufacturing environment
  • Bachelor's degree in Technical or Science related discipline
  • Previous experience operating a forklift in a warehouse environment
