Description
What You'll Do:
Tests, services, and repairs tractors, trailers and related mechanical components.
Perform in-depth diagnostic and repairs on engines, transmission, driveline, HVAC, electrical, suspension, lighting systems, body panels, brakes and air systems etc.
Perform light trailer body repairs including doors, tires, lighting system etc.
Act as a mentor and trainer to Tech I and II's as needed.
Identify and obtain necessary replacement parts as needed to execute repairs.
Drive trucks and yard jockey trailers in and out of shop before and after repairs.
Repair/replace bolts on body parts such as hoods and cab extenders.
Perform DOT inspections as outlined in USX guidelines; accurately complete DOT forms and all other forms of documentation in timely fashion.
Perform open seat inspections to prepare tractor for next driver.
Perform 90-day lease operator inspections.
Perform basic or minor repairs and inspections on brakes, tires, wiring etc.
Perform basic and routine preventative maintenance on tractors and trailers as outlined in USX PM guidelines.
